Obviously the talent was there, massive Kudos to our fitness and development guys and obviously Dimma and X..
More kudos to Sydney himself. Second time he had been kicked up the butt (once prior to the first WA state game where he got dropped) and a second when not getting picked in the draft. Both times he didn't drop his lip but put his head down and bum up and fought his way back. I remember reading somewhere that in the early running drills whilst he was building his fitness base he would run until he spewed and then would go again.

Overcoming adversity is such a great character quality and Sydney seems to have that in spades.

I love the way he attacks the contest but it is the combination of his hardness and skill that amazes me that no team, including ourselves, could find a spot in their draft selections. You couldn't be anything but rapt he ended up with us and hope that way we appear to embrace our players into the tiger family will see him want to stay for a long time.

I hope he finds the stability in his off field life that allows him to reach his on field potential.

If him or Ross doesn't get one this week, I'll be heading down to Docklands to burn AFL house to the ground.

It'll prob go to some Carlton spud though. It's become more of an encouragement award for crappy teams.

Ok.....I'll bring the marshmallows...Everyone on Big Footy invited BYO drinkies. Duck it!! Lets make a night of it .....

Loved him in the rooms trying the make Edwards laugh before the game lol

totally agree Mt2006....AFL is tough, I absolutely love that our boys can really enjoy eachothers company, but when it's Tiger time they can switch it on.....

Now that the world knows Stack is going to be a superstar, there's going to be quite a few small sized Tiger No.44 jumpers running around the country soon.

My guess though, the kids will need an upgrade next season. Grigga will probably retire and our first indigenous player Derek Peardon wore that No.6 proudly back in the 60's. Will be a perfect fit.

#6 is for Patrick Naish
#5 could be available but would rather he stays in the #44

I love how he seems to follow the play after he dishes off the handball. he doesn't just give off the handball and hang back he follows the player and looks for another 1-2 or a shepherd. he got in peoples way a couple times but that'll stop happening with more experience

it is astonishing that SS missed the draft. Blind Freddy could have seen the natural talent that he possessed, yet 18 clubs, including our own said yeah.. nah. How. We chose English over Stack. No slight on English because he may go on to be a very good player, but he could have been the rookie and Stack a late draft pick at the very least. On talent that is so obvious. Do they base so much on personality/professional approach, because he seems to have fitted into the system seamlessly. To think he came over in late December and to see where he is now is brilliant, but it does make you question the talent drafting system.

The recruiters have their boxes that must be ticked. Anything outside of the box gets them shit scared and unable to deal with. Most 17-18 years olds have their life sorted out by then don’t they?
