What's your problem? Is eighteen years not a long enough period of mourning for you, can you not talk about the reasons why what happened on that morning did yet?
18 years? You hurled abuse at me for merely making reference to the Nazis 80 years ago. Which way do you want it? Your understating of 9/11 is very Mundine'esk. Are you sure your weren't happy about it happening?

Now that we're not overwhelmed with the emotion of watching a couple of thousand people get barbecued on live tv we can look at it more rationally and it didn't happen out of the blue.u

The argument that 9-11 was blowback from decades of US intereference in middle eastern politics isn't "Mundine-esque". It was what the 9-11 Commission cited as the primary cause of the attack.

Sure.

I mean, obviously Fox News would lambast him no end, but that in line with their business model. And they’ll obviously mercilessly pan whoever the democrat nominee is, unless Murdoch thinks otherwise.

But capitalism would still be the fundamental framework for America under Bernie, and corporate news media will still be a significant force. So I’m really not certain that the organisations that are currently so anti-trump would be likely to make a massive about face and support him, to avoid Bernie winning the presidency...

I mean there’s a chance, for sure, but it’s not the most likely outcome and certainly not the only likely outcome.
Tragically the USA has spent the last 30 years undermining the European social welfare model - it is not about to let that same model gain a foothold at home.

There are far too many pigs at the troth that Bernie threatens.

You don’t win elections threatening the AMA here or there. In the event Bernie somehow became the nominee - all those pigs at the troth will unite against him viciously.

I’m surprised you doubt it

For what it is worth, I believe Bernie is the only sensible civil option.

But that country/empire is way past any sense or civility. It is a total basket case.

Neither did WW1, WW2, Singapore, Pearl Harbor etc.

They all have Geopolitical precursors. Mainly Imperialism & the colonial period of big power rivalry.

Even the destruction of Iraq, but that was just a made up excuse to exercise some military industrial muscle by murdering a million people & setting up the following instability. Oil & the 'protection' of Israel?

I often find Gough’s sanctimony hard to take but you are right off the reservation here with this line of posting.
It’s stupid and puerile - not to mention entirely insincere

Are you asking for equality of outcomes? That sounds a bit socialist to me.

Some people revel in their protection, others would and should be embarrassed by it.

I have always thought of Australia as an egalitarian country, that doesn't mean socialist.

I wonder how many people who were screaming "Ju-Liar!" are vocal about this issue?

*crickets*
Juliar introduced the worlds biggest carbon tax just days after she said she wouldn't. Impacted every Australian. In contrast getting photographed with someone doesnt mean you actually know that person, just that you have met them.

So you care about political honesty?

Ok.

I could go off topic an post Gillard's full quote (curiously, "...but I will put a price on carbon" seems to be lopped off the statement she made) but can I ask you - how do you reconcile your own position that politicians should be honest, with you support for Trump?

A succesful policy that meant the economy continued to grow while emissions reduced, it's repeal has been the driving force in the increase of electricity prices by 50% which is horribly ironic when you consider the hysterical scare campaign waged against it.

Turn it up. Repealing the carbon tax has led to an increase in electricity prices by 50%?

According to Martin Parkinson.
Electricity prices have soared by about 45 per cent for consumers over the decade after adjusting for inflation, according to a market analysis by the Grattan Institute published last month. Prices for manufacturers have risen almost 60 per cent.

Dr Parkinson said the higher prices were a measure of the cost of the decision by the Senate to reject the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme in 2009.

“The policy uncertainty over the last decade has meant that investors in the sector have been reluctant to make sensible long-term investments that are part of a staged transition of the sector because there’s no transition plan,” he said.

He does have a point, Chief. evo is another one he's missing.
he got too handsy at a Cosmic Psychos gig Jane, so they had to lock him up with Craig McLachlan in a gaol cell.

i prefer to spell gaol with a g, it is like de Tocqueville went to the corner hotel, got locked up, and could not properly spell gaol in the anglophone way. evo may have learnt his lesson

Al-Qaeda had tried unsuccessfully to bring down the Twin Towers in 1993 using 600kg of explosives in 1993.
They eventually succeeded, as we know, eight years later using two hijacked passenger aircraft.
