Doesn't care how it works. Has been explained and relevant US Codes given to explain. However, as a journalist, the individual in question is very narrow minded and unwilling to look at the process and why the investigation is actually taking place. Jane would rather scream partisan than actually look at it objectively. It is her get out clause so to speak.

My fat furry chop she is or ever was a journo.

It must be admitted, he knocked out ISIS pretty quickly. I remember an adviser from the previous administration stating that ISIS would control significant areas of land for decades. Then they go from expanding their territory to rapidly losing it in early 2017. It's always funny watching people try to twist this fact to avoid giving due credit! "Well ackshually..."

Daesh were well on the way to defeat before he took office, and he literally did nothing but continue the same strategy as Obama.

That's the facts.

There's lots to criticise Obama about when it comes to Daesh, but when he finally got his shit together, it was his policy that killed them. Trump just continued it.

Which in of itself is worthy of praise, Trump was very smart to do that, he did the right thing.

It was the Syrian Democratic Forces (mostly Kurds) that did all the killing and dying, for which Trump loves to take the credit for.

And the Shia in Iraq, lots of Afghans and Pakistanis there.

They fought all the way up from Baghdad through Mosul to the Syrian border.

Or doesn't care because it's Trump that's doingit. Some of us may remember Jane's judgement of the previous Labor government here and wonder how on earth she can approve of the Trump administration considering she was very keen on condemning Gillard for what she perceived as poor governance and yet the orange rapist is doing a great job in her eyes. An unkinder person than I may look at this as a touch hypocritical.

To be fair, it's tough to support Trump and not be a hypocrite if this thread is any indication. Jane's certainly not on her own there - think it was Poor Form a few pages back musing, completely straight faced, about how terrible it was that someone caught out continuously lying could still be in congress let alone chairman :tearsofjoy:

Have you found out what the High Crime is yet?

Eh? Not according to the Republican's own explanation it wasn't.

Read the posts Veruca, it helps.
Regardless - there is no reason at all why the transcripts of interviews aren't being released immediately unless Schiff and Pelosi are conducting a blatant political hit job

No see that was different coz national security according to Guru.

You would have thought that this inquiry, about the President using an arms deal as leverage to investigate the former Vice President might have some national security implications but apparently not.

Serious, there's things skating on the tops of ponds that have more clue than GuruJane

It is quite clear that Trump wanted Valensky to publicly announce investigations into the server and Hunter Biden to provide visual footage for campaign adds purporting that; (i) the Russian investigation was a Democrat witch hunt, and (ii) Biden is corrupt. He would campaign on him being the one fighting for the common man against the corrupt deep state.

Have previous impeach hearing been held in private??

Well no, not "regardless" - your assertion that national security concerns were the main reason for those closed hearings is simply wrong.

Republicans were fine with closed hearings during their Benghazi investigations, provided rationale for being fine with it, and it had precious little to do with national security.

Wonder what changed? lol

There's no way anyone, even the most ardent Trump supporter, could look at this set of circumstances and facts, and legitimately come away with the idea he was doing it "coz corruption".

Thats why discourse has devolved into arguments about the process - its pretty much the only thing left to leverage as some kind of defence.

Almost like Essendon and their doping program.
