Had me second guessing my self there. I thought I heard it mentioned somewhere and had to double check the rulings.

What do we do when AI takes over GR's role here ?

I think GR has AI covered.

He might also show Spicer the way. As others have pointed out, having them buzzing around the forward line would create all sorts of chaos for defenders to deal with.
yeah. remember when we had lindsay thomas and matty campbell in the same forward line? only one of those players worked out long term but they formed a great partnership

Interesting list. Only Turner out of that lot provides any memories of using "pace" (loosely applied here) and repeat pressuring efforts to create opportunities. ie he's the nearest to the zippy pressure small forward template, albeit well short of the league-wide standard.

Harvey is an unknown but looks to be more of that mini-KPF type of style, Mahony simple doesn't have the zip to play the role in that way and Drury is also an unknown.
Yeah we haven't recruited small forwards with high levels of agility, acceleration and top speed for a long time. Flash Campbell and Brett Allison. Other clubs continually have recruited these types and play 2 even 3 in their side and have caused us all sorts of problems over time. Especially the skilled ones who lower their eyes and who are tough for their size - like Michael Walters. We just have not been fair dinkum in this space for years.

But we do currently have plenty of forwards under 180cm on our list. So there's plenty of room on a list for small forwards. Hopefully we select some more guys with the dangerous traits.

I heard Buckley saying the other day that the best small forwards don"t need to slow down (much) as they get near the ball. Most of ours slow down.

Just boarding a flight from Perth to Melbourne… Robert Jnr, Robert Snr & I assume his brother are on the same flight. Already decked out in some North gear & all 3 smiling from ear to ear!!
Seem a good family, which should help with off-field stability.
