Doubt it, the Eagles have stuff all picks in this draft

How about they take Graham as a free agent on a contract sufficient to get us a pick in the mid 20's. We trade Baker and Green to them for their rd 2 picks in both 2024 & 2025 drafts and their 2025 rd 3 pick.

We lose Baker, Green, Graham to Eagles and likely get picks say 25, 26, 30, 45.

Under the current structure this is roughly 2500 draft points. You could probably trade all that for around pick 6 or 7 in the right circumstances, or a slightly later pick with something coming back our way.

Would you make a trade like that?

Who is there around pick six that needs those points? No one I can see

Must be played all year. Being in dangerous spots and goal sense are the 2 most vital attributes a small forward can have. All this guarding space and pressure is overrated nonsense and can be taught. Must be played remainder of year. For comparison Seth Campbell has kicked 4 goals in his last 13 games. MRJ has only kicked 3 goals once in his 35 game career ( against a completely decimated WCE team we beat by 24 goals).

I hope we target Kako in the Draft to stitch up the Bummers. We need a clean out of Coulthards and other list cloggers. Campbell has a future but needs to go find form in reserves, Mansells signed. Cumbos looking a bust. MRJ can go to GC with Dan.

I think you are right, but a lot to play out yet. But even if we got say pick 9 and retained pick 30 out of all that, worth it?
If Baker has to go I’d rather he go to Freo straight swap for one of their picks

Makes everything way, way easier

Or let the Eagles find a way to turn their second rounders into a first round pick for us for Baker

Agree, we need more natural goal kickers.

Campbell plays much more high half forward almost wing. I don't think I saw Campbell fumble a ball in any game and had some great moments. Not to say Greene can't do that as well, but seems to be dangerous around goals. Both have class which is a nice change.

Could say the same of most goal sneak small forwards

maybe it’s luck or maybe it’s playing his role well and putting himself in dangerous positions in order to capitalise
Also ability to read the play and know where to go and get getting the pill becomes easier. That run down tackle was a prime example as you could see him moving before others around him. MRJ has the same traits.

Didn't fumble bc he hardly touched it. lol Still has a future though

our best small forward since ben nason

While we are on Steely. Did you all hear what he said about working closely with Lambo . We are very fortunate to have him developing our youngsters, given his experience & empathy for fringe/developing players coming into the club. He’s been there and done it…. Awesome asset (#Quiet achiever)

Looked like he could be a handy mark as well

Almost bagged a couple half decent ones so he obviously knows where to stand
Just needs to work on holding his ground and not worked off it

Had games of 18, 17, 3x14, 2x13. Good numbers for a first year half forward. I know it was tongue in cheek but impressive because he is clean, almost never got tackled, rarely done for time and has pace.

Did have a fairly high number of clangers and turnovers for his age group. I think it's a myth he hardly fumbles. I am still happy with his progress.
