We can have a discussion about factors that could improve the game without people from either side crying about historic/current matches. No one is suggesting we literally change the playing conditions at this precise moment right now for this current game.

Suggestions that we could look at using or better developing a ball that would reduce bad light delays or look at potentially playing later into the evening where possible both seems like reasonable avenues to explore to me.
None of those things are going to stop actual precipitation though. :$

It's the perfect time to be doing it, when the issue and the impact of it as the forefront of peoples minds.
I recall the English were really disappointed that time the weather intervened in an almost certain result when Bangladesh played Zimbabwe…

As Mark Wood said, they only needed 6 deliveries. In 180, they found 1.

I am wondering if this cheeky statement wasn't a joke and that they firmly believed Australia would be bowled out in 50-70 overs, hence no need to declare early when the batting was fun.
Yep, that's what I was alluding to.

They're not and there's never going to really be a way around that, but they potentially allow a may to reduce the amount of play lost to it (as well as other factors like bad light which seems like it should be the first point to try and fix).

Need more action on climate change.
Can't expect Bairstow to do all the heavy lifting.
Cricket has often been decided by rain often? very often In Brisbane and Sydney the Uk VERY often. It IS part of the game. Baz new it was going to be very wet Sat Sun so should have declared 100 ahead all the luck with weather in game 1 2 and 3 came back to bite There is nothing fair about sport or life

"Two overs is 30 hours".

Tubb accidentally accurately describes the English over rate

Develop a method of not losing the first two tests in a home ashes campaign maybe.

It's almost as if people pay more attention to matches played by their own team...
Kind of like when your team is on the wrong end of “the spirit of cricket” it’s a problem, but when they benefit it’s all fine and dandy?

If only the Poms used woakes earlier in the series - whoops!

The English only preach the Spirit of Cricket, they certainly don't practise it.
