I agree that neutrals will be disappointed. That is understandable. You are a neutral leaning towards England. We are not neutrals. We needed help and we got it. We are therefore happy about it.
Been watching Australia for 25 years and I swear the weather has hurt us way more than help us over that time. About time it helped us

Been following the BBC blog and Brian from Birmingham gets it.

Lots of chat about cricketing idiosyncrasies, so here is another: if we were in the Aussies' position, we'd be loving the rain...

Don't think he's been that bad. Nowhere near bad enough for name calling that's for sure

Let's just enjoy keeping the urn this monring
Mate, he has been trolling all series, and when I pointed out the disrespect arrogance and delusion of the English team, he got personal, so **** him and the horse he rode in on.
Absolute loser.

Gloating big time. Ashes belong to Australia for at least anotherv4 years as England can't even win a test in Australia for a decade.

I'm not forgetting about the 2 tests Australia won but England have been robbed of a chance to win 2 tests and take it to a 5th test series Ashes decider.

Aussie supporters might be thrilled to retain the Ashes with a washout but it's a disappointing result for this series from a neutral cricket supporters POV.

Robbed heinously by... Uh... clouds

If you are bias, does that make you a neutral :)

I'm not really that bothered about who wins the Ashes I just wanted to see a close series.

Everyone knows the Astle Atherton trophy that NZ competes for with England is the real prize.

Any true fan of Test cricket would know that rain delays are an integral part of the game. The ever-changing outdoor conditions and the strange resulting scenarios are part of what make the sport great!

They werent robbed of anything. Rules are rules.

If they had've won one of those 2 we won, we wouldnt be here, but here we are.

Once again, nobody is misunderstanding that neutrals would prefer the most exciting series spectacle - which would be heading into the 5th Test 2-2.

However such neutrals don't need to project that Australian supporters should feel upset at this turn of events, should be desperate for more play or feel that the side are unworthy of a retention by this point.

That's it. We understand your stance. You should respect ours.

I think you make good points. You're probably in the wrong time and place to be doing it though. I'd make loads of changes to test cricket - longer days, strict penalties for slow overrates, no misuse of sub-fielders, no bringing out drinks for batsmen, ball changes after 60 overs, no super flat wickets, etc. We could have four-day tests over longer days and sell the package far better as a Thursday - Sunday event (like golf). But you're not going to get much change out of the punters on this thread at this time.

Go away mate.

You have probably been robbed of an Ashes win by the rain - suck it up.

Ponting was robbed in 2009 when rain saved England at Cardiff in the 1st test and the the poms pulled the swifty in the 5th test with a dodgy pitch.

Enjoy it.

To you annoy all of you pathetic Aussie cricket supporters that are celebrating retaining the Ashes due to today being a washout.
Like you wouldn't be celebrating it the same if it was the other way round you stupid ignorant sore dipsh!t.

Yep. England are going to go over 10 years without winning an Ashes series.

How sweet it is.
