Just one of them would've been fine. England 2-1 heading into the last Test and everyone would be roaring about what a thrilling series this was.If the poms had actually won the first two games, rather than just didactically claiming they won them morally, they wouldn't be in this situation.
Oh well.

Outstanding post.I'll be honest and say that under normal circumstances this isn't the way I'd like to see Australia retain the Ashes.
However considering;
1. England were kissed on the D by the weather conditions in the first 3 Tests (bar 30 minutes at Edgbaston)
2. The extraordinary run of luck Stokes enjoyed in winning the toss 4 out 4 times.
3. The rub of the green in DRS reviews.
4. The mouth breathing Robinson and his defence of the indefensible.
5. The mental gymnastics after Birmingham of claiming they were the better team after losing.
6. The breathtaking hypocrisy after the Bairstow stumping at Lords and the entitlement complex of the Lords members.
7. As ever the dear Barmy Army and their hordes of lager sodden morons in the cheap seats.
Shove it up your ginger Poms.
Sorry. Not sorry.
I am talking about the Aussie players, not flog supporters like yourself, they would have wanted to decide the game on the field not the dressing room.
Even Cummins looked flat, I don't think they will be whooping it up in the dressing room popping bottles of champagne like if they had won this game.
I am not just saying that because it's the Aussie players either, I wouldn't want to see the NZ players whooping it up if they retained a trophy this way.
On the comedy channelMore pertinently, why isn't it televised more often?
You beauty, be funny if they beat us by an innings in the 5th test I reckon, * em
Michael Vaughan - captain of the 2005 side that used breath mints to shine the ball which is ball tampering under the rules of cricket.Far out the Pommy media is shocking , I like Michael Vaughan but he’s sprouting saying it’s not the right way to retain the ashes, bet they didn’t mind in 13 did they. Banging on saying England are the better side, yes they dominated this test match but let’s face it they didn’t win it and they didn’t win the first two tests where they were outplayed and Australia was ultimately the better side.
Bairstow probably cost them both games with his sub par keeping and this game any chance they had have taking 20 wickets was reduced when they let Bairstow have a bash to try get a 100.
Hope we come out and flog them in the last test, maybe it will shut the whinging Pommy media up.
Some of the players are downright sooks. Could you imagine if any of our players like Lab or Starc come out and said a series is void if we didn’t win it or we are hard done by the rain or we’ve been the better side etc. Our guys just shut their mouths and play.
Sounds like Woakes is injured and surely they can’t give Jimmy a charity game.
Marsh can’t be dropped so if they want spin Murphy in Green out , they won’t drop Warner now and who knows with the freedom of the ashes retained he might go out and hit some runs. Somehow they have to fit Neser in he is the form bowler / and one of the form batsman too. Hazelwood took 5 but looked ordinary and Cummins looks spent but they won’t rest the skipper. Starc maybe sore? But if he’s fit he’s been our best bowler and probably one of our biggest positives of the series.
Why does it feel like we've done something wrong because it was a washout?Brave effort from Australia to survive the day and retain the Ashes while sitting on their arses in the dressing room.
The highlights of Louise Ransome and Tubby Taylor being huddled under an umbrella at Old Trafford will live on in Aussie cricket folklore.
NZ lost the 2019 ODI World Cup to the Poms in dramatic circumstances too.
I was pissed off that we lost it but I was grateful that I got to witness one of the great ODI finals of all time rather than it being decided by a washout.

The pommy press are astounding they way they are carrying on.Why does it feel like we've done something wrong because it was a washout?
Incredible stuff......would he say that if they won tbe series . Highly doubt it .Stokes : there are bigger things for us than winning the Ashes.

Peter Bixley curry update for fellow expats 4 hours away from bed?
No, it’s the worst it’s ever been.Is it just me or is the English complaining at the absloute worst it ever been?
Internet means we have more exposure to it.Is it just me or is the English complaining at the absloute worst it ever been?
