Prove them wrong and perform at Vfl level.Something he's not doing on a consistent basis.

Someone has already posted his stats. Read them, then you may re-think your post. While you're re-thinking it, then compare Lennons VFL stats compared to Newmans senior stats (not having a go at you, just asking you to have a look). I already know the answers to the questions for the record.

Glad that you haven't had to. Hope you never do...It's a difficult environment I work in. I'll be getting out of it soon. Just looking into alternatives . I have degrees . Looking at finishing another I started a few years ago...Social work. As with teaching, not alot of men in it ...

I left middle management due to the poor culture of management in general (had been in management for around 12 years by that stage). My boys were 2 and 4 at the time and i was doing 60-70 hours. Best thing i ever did. Got back into playing footy, and coaching, and just being a husband and dad. The hardest thing is actually leaving. But once your gone, you wont look back. I still have companies trying to get me back, and even my current employer trying to get me back into management. I have politely declined every occasion.
Money isn't everything.

Spending time with your family, very important & has Heart. I think that's very important to do things or have things in your life with Heart. It sustains us/you ....:thumbsu: Totally agree, money is certainly not everything (by a long way)...:)

The irony is, i am now doing well and making money in other ways ie: investment properties etc. so, you lose on one hand, make it up with the other. I like to think that i have got smarter later.

I've got a good feeling Lenno will put together some solid form in the VFL in the next 6-8 weeks as our teams become more settled, and force his way into the team or be first in line as a replacement. Second season on an AFL list, I'll only be worried if his not getting a regular game in his 4th. No need to worry, time for development and plenty of players on the way out before him.

Don't care much about stats,They can be misleading. On record saying Newman went on one year too long,But he's been out injured what 3 of the games already.Lennon's had ample time to get ahead in the que,So why hasn't he?Work ethic?

That's the $64 question. His numbers have been good in the VFL, (so it must be something else).

Pretty hard to claim from sub. I reckon he's in the same basket as McDonogue. And personally, i'd love to see both kids get a block of games to prove their worth. I am mega pissed off Elton got dropped. We won last week, Dimma starts him on Cloke, then drops him. Like seriously. I can't work it out. Port are gonna have schultz, Westoff, Ryder/Lobbe going through that forward line. We needed a third tallish defender. If i see Batchelor line up on Westof, i'm gonna lose my shit.

His performances have been up and down. He was good for the first couple of weeks, then got a call up to the AFL, where he was pretty poor and got subbed off (rightly or wrongly). He hasn't been that great since he came back to the VFL and would need to lift to get another call up. I think some of his recent form can be attributed to Lloyd and Gordon playing as medium forwards at VFL level as well.

Here's the irony, we drafted him two years ago, and we have no idea if he can play, or where he actually plays his footy. That's not good.

Selma's back, even if its no longer with tugga.

As for dropping Elton I think it cos because Schulz is their only real KPF. Westhoff is more of a midfielder so will run up and down the ground, plus they like to put him behind the ball when they are struggling. As for Ryder a ruck/forward is his best position, you can probably run somebody off him.

I'd go Grimes to Ryder, Rance to Schulz and Chaplain to Westhoff.

Grimes to Ryder scares the shit out of me. And that will become Grimes to Lobbe.

Get a grip. He's 1 season and a handful of games into a career. Has skills to work with and has a taste at the top level. I loved when he kicked a goal under the gun in this first senior match (may have been first kick??). Now if we're having the same convo in 3 years, or Lennon has been delisted in the time, then yeah, we have a problem. Until then, anyone with a credible observation (sees most weeks as opposed to likes of myself who see cameos of VFL) of VFL that has bad things to say about Lennon I'll respect, other than that I still see, and expect, him to be a big part of our medium and long term future.

Very low on the list of Richmond problems atm.

He was looking ready to go up until Deledio copied his hairstyle. Makes me wonder if Deledio maybe absorbed all of Ben's powers, now Ben will only reach 75% of his true potential.

It's sad, but it's a sacrifice that needed to be made.

Finally, someone who watches the 1%ers.

Check out any pics of Cotch training over the past few seasons.... he definitely has the the definition.... very very strong through the core as well.
Understand the core stuff, but haven't notice the big upper body of Cotch. I will try to take more notice today, but I don't think so. The reason I say this, is he will be able to handle taggers better.
