Sad to see another Premiership player gone ... but I guess he had fallen behind quite a few others in the pecking order

I guess it's inevitable that some of these premiership heroes will move on. Dan won't just be a premiership player ... every one of that 2017 GF side are Richmond immortals for breaking that drought and Dan gave us at least two highlights in that finals series that will be talked about for a LONG time. The sealer in the Prelim makes me well up just thinking about it and his goal in the GF will always be legendary for the following shot of Benny and Peggy!

I think it's a bit of a shame. His year in 2017 was good and he's only 23. Butler's best was better than Rioli and Castagna. I thought he might become a Luke Breust type.

Anyway, he did play like trash in 2018 and the team is lit so I move on
