Dan, you were especially nice to my daughter at a footy clinic a couple of years back so you'll always have my best wishes.

Good luck with your future and, whether you play 1 game or 200 more games with the Saints, just remember that in 2067 there will be a bunch of old blokes meeting to reminisce about what happened 50 years earlier and there will be a seat at a table with a folded reserved sign marked "Dan Butler".

Hope you go on with it Dan, and really progress your career. Watched you closely in the 2's in the later half of the year and it was looking clearer that you were back.

A shame to lose you, but can't knock a player who has served us well, helped deliver us a flag and wants to do what he's dreamed of most of his life, playing consistent footy in the AFL.

He'll be a good player for the Saints.
