Ship has sailed. But we will probably see more appeals on very close decisions now that the appeals board has shown it will come down on the other side of the lineball call.

The reasoning is incredibly important. If he got off because they were idiots and tried to have it both ways by grading a broken jaw as "medium impact" then it is still a worrying result. He won't have got off because the decision was wrong but because they stuffed up the process by trying to lessen the sentence.

Yes, their reasons will be very important. Any hint that public opinion had an impact, and we won't see a Collingwood player suspended again.

Seeing Schimma and co at the tribunal have been found incompetent, at the very least, Jacks carryover points should be immediately removed
AFL Lawyer Gleeson mentioned their games record and said that they only way this could be appealed is if the jury truly made a 'ROYAL **** UP!'

I'm hopeful that the reasons they've said they'll give are along the lines of there having been no reasonable alternative means of contesting the ball: that was the major flaw in the original decision, the impact grading was a botched attempt to lessen the sentence following that (going against the very idea of having a points system in the first place). It has to be understood that "not contesting the ball"/"waiting for the opponent to take possession" cannot be treated by the tribunal as feasible alternative courses of action.

Roughead, Jones, LeCras and Duffield should all be suspended this week. All had another alternatives and got them head high. The force was all significant enough to warrant suspension. AFL is a joke if any get off.

Id be rubbing Chapman out for sheer stupidity as well... I would of let one rogue elbow go but 2 in one game? Should know better - 1 week

Anyone catch the Bombers-Lions game?

Someone got cleaned up, cant remember (and don't really care) but it was EXTREMELY similar to the Zeibell bump against Carton.

What got my goat was Derrrwayne commentating about the hit saying "he changed in flight to protect himself", ""the intention was always the ball - so that's all she wrote" and all that clap-trap.

Wasn't he one of the media knobs doing a hatchet job on JZ?

Screams (once again) hypocrite when everything about his bump matched what DR was saying last weekend.

Did anyone think JZ May have delivered a bump in the last minute that may get him in trouble? Just got a glimpse myself but somebody else also mentioned there might have been something. We all know he doesn't have to do much for the MRP to smash him
Thoughts?

He is fine imho. He stopped and planted his feet.

It is not his fault one of their witches hats actually moved.

Saw it and wondered the same thing. A little less crash and bash and a little more kicking practice would be just the thing for JZ this week me thinks.

He's not an idiot and I will never lynch him for playing hard at it football to the end of every game. A few of his teammates could learn something from him. Had a reasonable game today too despite being clearly still struggling with that injury. If we go on a run I'd be happy to nurse him a bit.

He is clearly favouring it.

Has absolutely no concern for his own safety.

LT has a bigger problem with the tackle that caught an opponent high. Very light touch, negligible impact, incidental contact, all clear on the medical report, but LT loading means automatic 4 weeks. Or if he takes an early plea, 6 weeks.

And if we get a QC to represent him?

Ziebell's two misses today were fairly out of character.

He loves playing Geelong though so lets hope Friday night he turns it on.
