He is really starting to adjust to the pace of the game now.

His kicking this year has been excellent, where last year he was missing targets a lot.

The patience of the coach is starting to pay off :thumbsu:

What I really liked about his game on the weekend was his influence around the stoppages. He must scare the crap out of the opposition midfield! Some of this intensity/ferocity just can't be measured with stats but you can just sense when he is around the ball that he is a major influence.

At one point yesterday, Scott Thompson (the Crows one) was tracking Jack to stoppages. He's a jet, Thompson, and a big strong bastard but Jack was flogging them in close. He tackled Van Berlo, then picked Thompson up and dropped him on his arse. Next stoppage he basically moved a pack of 5 by himself.
In 5 more pre-season he'll still be only 25. Mental.

Him ignoring some half leads and just ripping that kick from 65 was the most enjoyable event of the day. He'll be one of our best, and sometimes your best just have to get shit done and he has that attitude and ability in him, clearly.

Jack Zeibell - Gets shit done. I like it:thumbsu:

Up there with Levi Greenwood - The Wrecking Ball

Too late, I blew my lid during the game.

Who needs Viagra when I get to see Jack play every week.

**** the lid, it has truly been blown to the shizenhausen. Wait until Greenwood comes up to speed too, oh there are going to be some sore opposition midfielders in the second half of the year.

Jacky Boy might just prove the very rare exception that shows me up as incorrect.

I don't know who that bloke was a month ago that continually chose to go to ground at the contest, but the one I have watched over the last fortnight manages to keep his feet most of the time. Maybe he will still outgrow a midfield spot, but he is a sensational impact player, no doubt about it.

Having his mate Levi back in the trenches is probably doing Jack a world of good as he can now stand off the contest and impact the contested situation much better.

That 65 metre goal took me back in time to the Jack Ziebell that dominated junior football. He will literally destroy opposition players in 5-6 years time. I genuinely fear for some 19 or 20 year old kid that ventures too close to him when he has got a head of steam up.

He is the raging bull.

You need to find a bicycle so pristine in appearance that it still has the wrapping and price tags on it.

There's no other player on our list that I would prefer to have the ball in their hands 60-70 metres out from goal.

Come back in 5 years time.

He was continually going to ground because he was knackered! Now he's getting a bit more of a tank he's starting to deliver...Still think he'd make a great forward though, think we'll see him be both. But that goal had Voss written all over it....:wet dream type face thingy:
BTW, that backpedalling pic was bloody funny:thumbsu::thumbsu:

I don't buy that.

My same and very original sentiments exactly. IMO, He'll play more forward than middle, the older he gets.

Yeah, I had a chuckle to myself when I posted something similiar 5 or 6 years ago.

Furry muff.....that's how it seems to me. Now it looks like he knows he can outsmart/outbody whoever and get away from them with the footy.
Core strength is the key for me, and when you are shagged it's the first thing to go, not your speed but your ability to hold ya ground.
All good though, happy to disagree.

kudos:thumbsu:

Didn't see that....5 years a long time in footy :D
But double kudos then Teff.

Jack has been great this year which is a real credit to him coming back from two broken legs but one thing i've noticed with him is his kicking off 1 step? it's AMAZING! hits the target everytime!

Has anyone else noticed? he did it numerous times tonight (Good win boys)

Love you work Jack :D :)

GO ROOS!

Re: Jack Ziebell

Lol good one.

Agree with the sentiments though his kicking has been brilliant over the last few weeks.

Good again.

He's hard. Got lined up tonight and it was his opponent that went down. Then later decided to get into Josh Fraser for being, well Josh Fraser. He is well on his way to being an absolute tank. A lot of Ricciuto & Voss - without the lack of personality of the second. I can't wait to see what he can do over the next 12-18 months.

Okay thread back on track. Yes, I do recall a couple of examples of Jack spotting up targets inside 50 off one step. Freakish.

Amazing footy brain. Will be a gun.
