A truly stunning performance.

Very "Simmo-esque", but 8 years earlier and with better footskills.

Human wrecking ball, new nickname the 'Wunderwarffen' translation the Wonder Weapon. Derived from a Nazi super weapons called The Bell (Die Glocke) and in german accented englishe Zie Bell.

Or more Australian friendly, Kangaroo Jack (although that's an american film).

Hmmm naming him after a Nazi weapon or an American movie. How about we go with the least offensive nickname.

Just curious but are all your role models mass murdering pricks?

Quality. Unfairly maligned by many and still so young. May this be a breakout game for him. A firing Zebs in the engine room week to week will be vital for us going forward. :thumbsu:

Superstar in the making is Jack. Loved his game today, particularly the outside stuff because we all know how good he is at attacking the contested ball which is reflected by the statistics.

Spitta will be our next captain but JZ will be the one after that. By far the best game of his short career. Quality.

BTW, I think the Fox Sports commentary team have been scanning the North board because they nicknamed him JZ today, a name which I believe was brought up here.

Awesome and breathtaking display fom Ziebell. We've all been waiting for a game like this from him. Can be anything if he gets even more fitter and mentally stronger. Will be a brutal, brutral player for us if he develops they way we hope he does in the next 2-3 years.

I thought the melbourne game was his breakout when he kept moloney quiet and still found plenty himself. Did that again tonight

Lets not forget he also picked up 27 touches against the pies. Pretty good effort in the circumstances

I dont think he's been unfairly maligned...to the extent of LT and Lachy posts this year............but his games early on in the season if you asked him personally could have been better. Im not afraid to say I was critical, suggesting he may need a spell. I still can't believe he had 67% playing time..wow!!! Yeah well he has set the bench mark now...if he takes this game as the standard from now on and he reaches or there abouts Im sure we'd be all happy.

good on you jake!

I effing love you Jacky boy an absolute gun. He's arrived since he copped unfair criticism earlier in the year he has worked his arse off and it's paying dividends effing awesome love ya Ziebs , an the rest of the rooboys was a awesome game

there's a difference between knowing the path and walking the path. ... Oracle:

At the time, the criticism is exactly what he needed. He lifted he's work rate and dare i say it, is now walking the path :)

Couldn't have picked a better week for Roos to return to 'On the Couch'...

I wonder whether he still thinks Jack isn't fit enough?

Well, he played 67% of game time. I'm hoping he isn't fit enough.....

Because when he is, imagine.....

Just think, two more preseasons and 30 more games.

Firstly do you really think he actually deserved criticism(let alone needed it ) for not being fit due to 2 broken legs hip surgery in his first 2 years of afl football . These are things you dont need to be critcised about they needed to be undersatood more than criticised but jack and the club certainly knew where he was at and he has obviously worked his ass off for himself and the team and is repaying the faith that the club and his teamates had in him. I think it's such a good story and credit to him and brad scott (who believed in him and stuck by him )I think all of us that criticised him ,me included ,owe him an apology for criticising him and not undestanding his predicament .
Well done Jack thats the stuff North melbourne is made of.... a 20 yo to come back from where he's been over the last 2 years in an elite competetion is really remarkable ...reminder 2 broken legs and hip operation in 2years ..I salute and apologise . You are a gun

Yep. If he can get to a consistent 80% game time, put on more endurance and still maintain that frame. He will destroy teams.

I dont care if it was justified or not, it doesnt matter. For the record, i didnt criticize him so i have nothing to apologize for, so dont start defending him against me. If Pauls Roos wants to rip into any more of our players and have them improve this much i wont be complaining about it.

North Melbourne midfielder Jack Ziebell says he was motivated by Paul Roos' stinging criticism

Was the Oracle right in telling Neo he wasnt the ONE when he was? But what will really bake your noodle is, would he have been the one if she told him he was?

When we're talking about bumping up game time from 65% to 80% odd I'm thinking Daniel Harris.

Did Harris ever have 41 touches?
