It's funny, I was more excited taking dow and obrien. The reality is, carlton was a poor development opportunity for those two.

I hope we don't throw him in the middle too early and ruin his career like we did the aforementioned pics.
With our dearth of quality small forwards, I expect to see Jagga at the feet of H and Charlie a fair bit in '25.

There are a few good comparisons floating around for Jagga but one I quite like is Pendlebury. If he can have half the career we will be laughing.

He is not a clone but shares many traits - phenomenal work ethic/professionalism/leadership (attention-to-detail which leads to better development, preparation and longevity), high football IQ and decision making ability, elusive athlete, silk/composure/vision/awareness in traffic… a super consistent and effective football player. Unsure of his junior basketball status.
They share Shazam rings.

To me Jagga just gives Scott Camporeale vibes with a dash of Jim Buckley.

Ironic with the Campo boys due through the door this evening.

Obviously a super prospect...but I was kind of hoping we picked Draper. Seems like much more of a burst player with a really penetrating kick. Jagga looks more like a Walshy type, albeit probably more pacey.

But can't be disappointed. Talent aplenty.

A guy I went to school with (2 years above) is one of Jagga's biggest wraps.

Coached at the Chargers and, in Messenger, would often sing his praises with leadership his massive asset.

When he wasn't playing, Jagga would just be shouting out stuff.
He and Vossy could be great from the boundary line :p

Only just watched Jaggas 1st interviews after his name was called out. I like to watch their reactions to see if genuinely happy or not.

He is so stoked that we called his name out, as opposed to what he was probably expecting before we landed pick 3, that he would be off to one of Richmond, NM, WC or Adelaide.

Front of these kids minds is they just want to be drafted first and foremost, but back of their minds would be that they would like to play for a team that's not anchored to the bottom of the ladder and copping floggings every week.

I reckon he's been hoping and wanting to come to us, since we acquired pick 3.

Stays in Melbourne and plays for a big club in contention.

Reckon he's stoked and so am I.

Good to get another player in who will be an elite player with really strong footy IQ and looks a complete package. Will fit in really well in our midfield, he's a really good fit for us. I think he will play on the ball, on the wing and at half forward. He could also be playing that role off half back where he plays as an extra outside midfielder.

Having an athlete, who has endurance and speed, the don't often have footy IQ so this is what is elite about him. The other part is that he is an accumulator, he's a big possession player and they don't always have great disposal so there are two points here which make him a rare quantity and an elite player.

He will bring a lot to our side. Especially if our inside players can win a lot of the footy but also apply real heat and cause the ball to spill out more.

I would not even bother getting a VFL guernsey made up for him, there are that many spots where he could be placed in our side it's not funny.

His recruitment and the addition of Lord. I said a few years ago our midfield needs to go through a mini rebuild and modernise and this is exactly what I was talking about. Add pace, quality and pressure.

Is he quick and can he kick goals? I must admit I was kinda disappointed we didn't go for Draper.

Have to laugh that Dylan Williams and Pommy the YouTube ‘gurus’ who said we definitely wouldn’t take Jagga because we need a point of difference, were completely wrong - yet again.

Beware of content creators.
Jagga derangement syndrome will be huge over the next few years. You see it with Nick Daicos each week, people go to extraordinary lengths to talk him down even though he’s an exceptional player. Jagga has done everything Daicos did as a junior and I reckon he’ll follow a similar trajectory. We’re very lucky to have him.

His close in disposal shows sihgns of a bloke who has a footy brain - that is an imporovement on most of our mids for starters.
