This would hurt 10x more than Crameri.

not at all in terms of on field output, if you look at what he might bring to the table next year.
would hurt our pride though, for sure. considering he's always appeared to be an Essendon man, and 'loves' the club. i guess that's just bullshit.

I would say that he still loves the club but there comes a time when enough is enough. Especially when there is no end in sight and the coach you respected most in the main culprit in prolonging the agony. Winderlich probably just wants to spend the small amount he has left in the AFL enjoying the game again and a positive environment again. I don't think he's a traitor. I think he'll always love his team mates and the EFC. This much pain, worry and pressure is too much for anyone.

If you're going to spout shite, do it elsewhere.

rubbish. if true, he's not even facing a show cause notice.
he should stay to support his mates through this. and to help the club out if we lose players to suspension, since he would actually be eligible to play

The players have all stuck together for two years now but for someone who is close to retirement would you really want to play out your last year/s in such an uncertain environment. Obviously Winderlich has had enough judging on his actions. Hey maybe Hird can change his mind :straining:

I'm showing incredible restraint right now. I suggest you kindly do the same.

What he said.

Sorry mate. I wasn't trying to be confrontational. The club wants this to go away quickly which is why they are upset that Hird is continuing the court action. Like us the players can see this and see the club and coach are now divided. This is all I was trying to say.

Source?

Hird already did change his mind, that's why his offifical status is 'retired, but contemplating playing on'... because Hird talked him around

From the way it looks Winderlich seems to be only one who legitimately wants out because of the stress caused by the whole ordeal. I think he wants to spend the last 1 to 2 years of football with out this distraction.

I can understand how he would feel. Has to watch his team mates with their careers in the balance.

And leaving them behind is better?

I expected better from a 29 year who is well respected and much loved by the club by all reports he's not even one of the 34 players so really he has no excuse to leave.

If Hirdy stays.. Winders plays.

Easy as that Mr Little.

That goes for Fletcher and Howlett too.

A lot hinges on the court hearing tomorrow.. get a good 'date' and it might be ok.. if it is delayed until Feb next year.. then he has to choose one or the other.

Sorry to intrude, but Winderlich has told us that he'll never play for Essendon again regardless of the coaching landscape. It's pretty much we either take him as a free agent (or in the PSD or something) or he retires

This is still baffling me. How can someone be so "Essendon" and retire with some wonderful comments about EFC and how the last 12 years have meant so much.
Then, have a change of heart about playing on "possibly", and then coming out and saying basically "f*ck you" Essendon, I'm never coming back!

It's a fair question, no one on the Richmond board knows why. Possibly someone here would?
I'm not saying it's not. But if you come here with an av like that, I am just saying that you'd want to be careful.

If licha wants to play for a club that's not embroiled into controversy can he at least nominate geelong, hawks or North.

Stuff Richmond, Carlton or Collingwood, cmon licka ill support you to play finals :)
