Injured or not. He must start hitting the scoreboard and complementing the hard work and endeavour of the backline. Not pointing him out and isolating him. Nick, Cam, Turner. These guys MUST start converting their opportunities.. by converting opportunities, i mean taking simple ****ing chest marks.

Unfortunately can’t seem to get it together. Doesn’t have the required intensity or consistency to make it at the highest level. He is in his 4th year now and even first year players like Powell who are built like a stick are already playing better games than him.
Opposition have done their homework on him. Jy is in this category too. They need to adopt a little bit of KISS method to their games.

Unfortunately he is a very timid player which limits his upside, very disappointing to say the least. Still think he will be a good player but not the saviour we thought.

If he is injured then wtf is he doing going to Perth? Have to assume he was ok. In that case his game was awful. Lacked commitment, poor finishing, average skills. Not writing him off yet, but he would want to start showing something soon. His few nice first quarters this year do show he has the talent.

He'll make it. It's a question of whether he is decent, good or great.

I hope so. But I must say he has been disappointing for a pick 4 and all the associated hype. Doesn’t seem to have the drive to really smash in and be an elite player. You see an occasional glimpse but then goes missing for large periods. Frustrating..... Kicking for goal is also disappointing. True elite players put you to the sword by kicking those clutch goals when they get the opportunity.

The pick 4 hype is not his fault.

Fyfe says hello.

As someone else noted progress isn’t necessarily linear. The game to game reactiveness as to if he will make it is silly. Young guys are inconsistent, but the talent is there, it doesn’t vanish because he has a bit of a down day.

I get the impression he’s as anxious as any of us to hit his straps and show what he can do but the body won’t let him yet. He needs fitness and continuity. That’s all.

GK, I wonder if he is carrying something that is limiting but not enough to rule him out of playing?

I know the adage that if you cross the white line you are good to go, yet we know most players are carrying some injury.

Would love to know what task(s) Noble & the coaching panel have set for LDU & how he is tracking against those.

You can see he's busting a gut, but it's just not clicking at the moment.

I'll be stunned if he's 100% fit.

Lets face it - we don't have a heap of fit players knocking on the door so you're probably right. But he just isn't value at the moment. If he is carrying a niggle why take him to Perth, a tough road trip, certain loss and long flights. Not going to help him. Anyway, time will tell. I certainly have not written him off - just disappointed with development to date.

Fair enough. Reckon we all want that first quarter, against Port, to be the standard.

That first quarter was elite against port. 12 touches and a goal, and was breaking the game apart. Something has happened. Definitely has some sort of niggle and down on confidence.
My money would be on OP.

He's definitely lost power in his running and that probably explains the significant time on a flank.

He was very flat last night. Somethings not quite right

His 1st quarter in Rd1 was outstanding & I really thought he’s turned the corner, but it’s been very avg since.

Like many modern players the goal kicking issues are purely psychological, as he could hit a 20c piece with his field kicking.

Agreed. I feel at times he should focus on the basics and go first option. It seems that he second guesses what he's supposed to do in pressure situations and second guesses himself.

If you just can't physically go with them mate, then all the good intentions in the world won't amount to much.
