Still brings a tear to my eye 2017. Not sure if this has already been posted, probably has but how great to watch this.

I met a current player (midfielder) at a function a couple of years ago and had a chat about footy for 10mins or so. He didn't know I was a Tigers supporter but said Cotchin is the biggest dog in the AFL.
I think it's just cos he plays the game so hard. Like you say Mr nice guy off the field.
Who was the player
Is he bald
Does he have a brother who is also bald

What a career for the great man!

There's a few standout moments:

  • Some of the goals he kicked circa 2014/2015 eg. against the swans lying on the deck getting tackled and slams it through. The soccer through against west coast at a ridiculous angle was also a treat
  • absolutely crazy finals series in 2017. The left foot goal against Geelong was unreal.
  • 2019 prelim against the cats, the pressure on Stanley in the middle to get the ball forward for a Lynch goal.
  • 2019 Grand Final - his goal on the run and celebration I feel represented how we all felt.
  • His 2022 season I feel was underrated a little, average disposals went higher than it had been for years and had plenty of impact.
  • Last weekend - against Freo he was back to his best. Clean out of the center, every kick feels damaging again. Absolutely love it.
Well done Cotchy! Go well in game 300

this man is an inspiration

his contribution to forging our current culture has been phenomenal

we have been blessed with some pretty good captains in our history, cotch is right up there and in my mind we don't do the dynasty without him

time goes so fast

love ya cap best wishes on the 300

With all the ticket offers I'm getting bombarded with via text and email even though I booked ages ago they must be expecting a lousy turnout. 30k against Port was putrid with no atmosphere. Surely now we're showing something and with Cotchins 300 against a Vic team surely 60k turn up? Probably only 50k will though I reckon.

Cotchin should absolutely play again next year, his drop in form this year was purley on the back of positional change. Besides Sonsie & Dow haven't developed fast enough to lose someone like Cotch. All the best for his 300th, Go Tiges

His openness on showing compassion , vulnerability and empathy toward others has not only completely changed the way sporting organisations operate , but the impact it has on the general public is profound albeit immeasurable .
Takes some big balls, courage and severe toughness to go against the trend , particularly the ruthless hard arsed profile which was expected of captains at that time .
