It’s 8 days before the GF and Melbourne enters another 7 day lockdown. We’ve seen how quickly covid can cause a lockdown in a matter of days. Does the Grand Final get moved to Optus (largest crowd)/SCG (easiest for borders) or do they play it infront of no crowd? If Melbourne had to enter lockdown 2 days before the Grand Final what happens then?

just back calculate and hand the flag to the team that finished higher during the season or a coin toss

Just the usual:
- Victorian government claims it was all someone else’s fault
- Victorian government pretends it doesn’t know who made crucial decisions that led to the outbreak
- Victorian government still schedules a public holiday the day before anyway; and
- Victorian government still boasts that it is ‘best in class’

2 days out it has to be postponed, that's far too big an adjustment for clubs and players for the biggest game if the year.

A week out its line ball, options would be relocate to the most sensible ground at the time given all other factors, or delay it a week. I dont think the GF should be played with no crowds unless that was the only possible option.

- BigFooty blames the Feds even though its the same state over and over and over and over.

So let me get this straight
When an outbreak occurs because an SA run program (of something that should be a federal responsibility) has a leak, it's Victoria's fault.

Got it.

NSW has had a few times when 1 or 2 people got sick in the community. Yet contained it.

Victoria wanted to go its own way. And has failed over and over and over and over.

Back to the Gabba if it can't be postponed. AFL rewards those who serve the AFL.

This thread is about the football game

Option 1) GMHBA. Host it in Geelong. Probably not an option if the outbreak isn't localised
Option 2) Optus or Adelaide Oval*
Option 3) Tassie? Give them something at least

*Option 2 gets interesting if you have Port/West Coast in it.
do you give one side a home advantage or avoid it altogether?
