A club divided.

What gets me is the fact that people still think Mick going was a terrible mistake. The guy won us a Premiership, I'll grant him that, but on the other hand he cost us a Grand Final and we had several years of mediocrity with a list that wasn't as bad as seemed. It took a couple of years for Mick to even get us into a Grand Final yet. The fact is Buckley has had to deal with a list that has been one of the most injury riddled that we have ever had. Add to the fact that some players just don't seem to want to adapt to the Bucks way of thinking. That's fine. That's why he's getting rid of them. The guy bleeds black and white. He would do anything for the club and is doing the necessary things in order to ensure that we once again become a threat come September. Whether that's having to make the hard choices in getting rid of players then so be it. I'll back him.

Malthouse was all about me me me. The way he left always left a sour taste in my mouth and going to the scum even more so. The guy is a liar. That is all there is to it. Add to the fact that he played injured players in a Grand Final which, quite frankly, we could have and should have won. If he was any kind of honourable man, he would have stuck by his contract but he isn't and he left us in the lurch. That's his problem and that's ancient history now.

We now have a man who will do his all to ensure, like I said before, to get us back to being a threat and to absolutely demolish teams. I can see what he is trying to do but it's up to the players to perform. We have to hope that we have an injury free season next year and for the players to actually get that hunger back in themselves and actually want to play for the club. If they don't then I would have no problems in Buckley shipping them off elsewhere.

I am hoping that this loss to Port will act as an impetus for what is to come next season and be a reminder for us to never get to that stage again and to perform on a consistent basis week in week out. With a new Fitness coach coming in and most likely replacing of Assistant Coaches who will want to do what Buckley wants, then next year is certainly looking promising especially added to the fact we have Grundy, Witts, Dwyer among others who will only benefit from having another pre season under their belt.

I believe Buckley is taking this club in the right direction. Like anything in life, it just takes time. Keep the faith guys, we will be up there again very soon.

A lot are talking about the 'divide' between the coach and certain players...I for one am looking forward to the next Darren Jolly media instalment. He speaks his mind and is a great read...if there are any divisions within the club, I'm certain that we'll hear it from our premiership ruckman...and yes, regardless of what he says, the conspiracy theorists and naysayers will not believe.

The fact that this might be possible just screams the need to nut a bunch of players.

Get with the program or get on the bus. I can't even think of a Hawks or Geelong player that has publicly whinged about the club or created a melodrama around the coach. It's unconscionable garbage and I'm over it.

It's going to require a rebuild and I'll support it fully.

It just seems that half our players are for Buckley and his ways and the other ones aren't. I'd rather they be rid of so we can continue forward and become a powerhouse on the field again. It's a professional business this, and you just have to adapt otherwise you will be gotten rid of. All for the betterment of the club I say.

Not sure how many we need to nut...we've lost 6 over the past couple of days, and with Benny gone and possibly Daisy as well that's 8, with the possibility of others being traded. What we have left is a great foundation of experienced and young players to mould a solid team from...

In regards to Jols, if he does talk about his last few years of football, I for one would welcome it.

We've shaved 12-14 for years now, so it's not radical.

Jolly, Krakouer and Didak were always on the way out in any team. Johnson retired and Russell should never have been in.

If it's too much for Shaw, Thomas and Swan to accept those losses, then they've got to go. It's utterly ridiculous. Take that show to town and see how it goes.

Noticed Daisy has deleted his 'where's your Didak' tweet

He would have meant it in regards to missing him in the future and wouldn't have thought of it as being misinterpreted to mean something else. BUt I'm sure it was pointed out to him and he removed it.

Also, just putting it out there, maybe there isn't any problem at the club other than the injuries we've had (Buttifant replacing is a great move imho) and normal list management.

Didn't have his number?

Too many cooks spoiling the broth imv, had enough now.

It has been reported that Jolly is very angry about being delisted, which is understandable. I think it would be wrong of him to write an article in this frame of mind as it would likely sully his legacy at Collingwood, and he would regret it in the future. Far better to maintain his dignity and move on. Look at how Dawes handled it. He is all class and will be welcomed back to the club when his playing days are over.

Stuff him, i'm thankful for his service etc etc but his last 2 seasons have been terrible and lets face it, it wasn't going to get any better, i think delisting Jolly was one of the easier decisions we had to make this year.

I'm a little pissed about Dids getting delisted, not the fact he was delisted but because Maxy wasn't, if we ran a poll on who would have more impact in 2014 out of Dids and Maxy Dids would win in a landslide, Maxy should have been cut IMO.

None of us really know if Bucks is going to be our next premiership coach
Nobody knows if cutting back on experience like we did today will be seen as a mistake
No one knows if we would have been better off sticking with Mick.

But I do know one thing. Mick is no longer our coach. Dids, Jolly and potentially Daisy may never play for us again. Its time to look forward.
Bucks has clearly been thinking of this for a long time judging by the number of players he's blooded, the non-selection of Jolly and Dids for long periods and changes to the game plan.
Not all of these will work out but I admire Bucks for having the balls to make his own calls.

I do. Buckley won't coach Collingwood to a flag. There I said it in fact he won't make a single GF.

Well I dont mind discussing problems. I just dont see the point of making them up or making up the reasons that they exist. Speculation is fine and good fun for a lot of people in the forum. I accept that. It's only a football team. So go ahead and speculate til your heart's content...
Nobody has made up anything. The divisions are obvious even in this forum and while as far as I know you may not have been around to see it, history says these things can do damage if left unchecked. So go ahead and stick your head back in the sand if that makes you happy. Nobody says you have to participate in this particular discussion.
