Couldn't think of another heading for it, but its a team of the best 21 players drafted from pick 50 and higher from the 2003 draft until tue '06 one. What do you think?

Coach: James Hird
FF - Aaron Edwards, Justin Westoff, Robert Gray
HF - Mathew Stokes, Chris Bryan , Nick Gill
C - Clint Bartram, Shane Tuck, Lindsay Thomas
HB - Andrew Raines, Matthew Egan, Sam Fisher
FB - Jayden Attard, James Gwilt, Tyson Goldsack
R - Simon Taylor, Chris Knights, Michael Rischitelli
B - Ben Hudson, Joel Patfull, Daniel Jackson, Austin Lucy

A quality forward line which consists of plenty of talls and solid forwards. Aaron Edwards would be the potent one, especially with Gray and Stokes at his, and the rest's feet.

A midfield that isn't too glossy, although you don't get glossy from pick 50 onwards, but these guys get the job done, and some, are decent midfielders too. At least the ruck is covered, can't say the same for some AFL teams.

A very reliable looking backline led by one of the best CHBs in the competition. Plenty of run out of defence and appears unbreakable when 3-4 are at their best.

Biased opinion but would have thought Brent Stanton could have got a guernsey in that list.

EDIT: was the word 'from' meaning excluding?

Does Aaron Davey count?
2003 rookie draft, elevated for round 1, 2004.

Surely he can take Robert Gray's spot in the forward pocket - who is that, anyway?

Deeerrrrrrrrr! after reading the previos posts and re-reading the conditions: WITHDRAWN!

Kind of obscure rules though.

Ah, Adam Selwood was the 2002 draft (read the OP), Scott Burns was last century and Brent Stanton was a first round pick.

Come on boys and girls - read.
heh, yeah.
I read through the names in your team and i was about to post 'what.... no embley?!'.

But here's the trick boys and girls - I went back and re-read the first sentence in the thread.

I DID read it properly, just got my years mixed up and thought Selwood was drafted in 2003. Simple mistake that I allow myself to do every now and then so I dont look so perfect :p

Theres just too many people having blank brain days today! I did this thread half-stoned, half-drunk and it was simple to follow lol

I think this thread proves that recruiters get it right pretty often... not much serious talent there

You're kidding aren't ya? So you're saying each club, had 3 better players then these guys running around each year for the last 3 years?

There are some quality players where that recruiters definitely missed. There is a Hawthorn ruckman in there, as well as a potentially future captain midfielder in Raines and an All-Australian CHB.

There are also countless youngsters with plenty of potential like Gill, Gray, Westoff, Goldsack, Knights and Thomas.

Tuck, Rischitelli, Attard, Stokes, Fisher and Gwilt don't go too bad either, do they,.
