It doesn't matter how good or bad he is in an interview or at speeches. His followers don't care if he looks bad, they swallow it all up. Harris doesn't have a following like that, she needs to make people want to vote for her.
Kamala made the interview all about Trump, when it was supposed to be about her. She blew it, big time.

I do agree with that... although given she was going to be watched by his supporters I get why she did it. I think she was trying to shake the loose ones off. She was goaded a few times but and fell for the bait.

I don't think it was a train wreck but as a lot of his side of politics refer to it - surprise surprise. She probably didn't gain anything but I have seen plenty of commentary saying she held her own, so she probably didn't lose anything either. And it reality she did stand to lose by going on Fox.

It's a very weird tactic for the Harris campaign to consist of a list of endorsements from Bush Jr's administration, but that seems to be the only style of campaigning Democrats/Labour/Labor will tolerate now.

Really curious to see how this state election plays out now... The LNP were always going to win I think but I think the last few weeks have really eaten at the gap they would have expected in seat numbers.

There is going to be a really obvious region/city divide in the results - the campaign the LNP has run has really bitten them on the arse now. They are almost a single policy party if the campaign is any indication and once they are forced off topic they look weak, divided and clueless.

The "it's time factor" will see Labor loose seats to Greens and independents as well as the LNP... that's inevitable. The LNP runs the risk of losing more far flung seats to Katter.

People are just over the status quo. And playing the small target campaign game by the LNP has really kept people at bay who wanted leadership, inspiration and change.

The LNP will win but I don't think it'll be the bloodbath many predicted 2 months ago.

Talk about the Greens demise is interesting. In the next 5-15 years the next generation is going to come through and 99% of them won’t be able to afford housing, so you’ll have a large proportion of the voters in this country unable to afford to put a roof over their head. In Victoria already, by 2026 millennials and younger will makeup 55% of voters.

Watch how quickly a lot of these people flock to the green who will offer big picture fixes to these issues.

Agree, last check LNP 35%, Labor 35% and Greens 25% of the primary vote in McConnel (Brisbane inner city). Won by Grace Grace (Labor) again. If the Greens can tip their primary vote up over Labor's or form a coalition with them in the short to medium term, the LNP will be stuffed in the cities and some of the green-focused country areas.

Greens are good in theory but oh so shit in reality. I love the election promises they spruik and the unattainable ways they wish to fund these. I saw the Green Plan for QLD report had a public property developer be provided $60bn for 100k houses. At the federal level they want to build 350k houses in 5 years. 5 years!!! it's laughable.

No Big Picture fixes here just a few alders of being out of touch.

Believe you're missing the point.

Post is more about disaffected youth voting Greens, than the Greens ability to make good on their policies.
Yeah, but I'm not commenting on the Greens potentially being a preferred party for disenfranchised youth entering the voting ranks. I'm commenting on the Greens as a Party.

I don't think your comment has anything to do with my point other than the fact that I mentioned the Greens.

Trump looking very likely at this point to be the next president. Hard to fathom how the democrats can't come up with a winning strategy against a man with as bigger dirty laundry list as Trump.

Going to be a loooong 4 years.
It'll be a lot more than 4 years I'll give you the tip.

Yes and no, his supporters literally don't care about any of the stuff he has done.
If he wins PA and Georgia, with only 5 seats needed, you would have to think is pretty much home.

Getting rid of him motivated a bunch of people last time around and that motivation still barely let Biden beat him.

Some of those didn't show up this time and that's all that was really needed.

The reality of being in power always disillusions some who think the President can solve everything.

The funny part is Trump goes on and on about China but him being in power is the single biggest thing that heightens China, because they suddenly appear a lot more reasonable by comparison.

Made worse when they ignore facts about the economy, etc.

You're right about his supporters

Didn't Trump once boast that he could murder a person in broad daylight and his popularity go up?

World stockmarkets have been pricing in a Trump win for nearly 2 months . The bookies had him 2s on . He's going to win the popular vote. So whilst no one is surprised how the power brokers in the Dems spin that one to their supporters should be worth listening to.

Harris was only VP because Biden saw her as the least threat to him. Zero process to stump her up and seriously she was seen as a dud well before that. They got what they deserved.

The only reason I wanted the Dems to win is 4 more years of Trump will mean a daily barrage of how terrible he is. Already started.

Looking at the positives he's not a warmonger like the vast majority of his predecessors and in the event of a recession and market implosion which will happen well within 4 years, he'll go down the route of fiscal expansion like every other politician anywhere since the GFC which means the Big One will be delayed until after my time is out.

He's less of a hawk than Obama and Biden but I still see very little change geopolitically.

Sadly even though Biden - or genocide Joe as he has been dubbed - who has done nothing to try and stop the horrors committed by the beast of the middle east on innocent Palestinians, the orange man will be even worse.
