Re: Gazza doesn't show up

I heard Bomber Thompson's wife threw her drink at Liam Pickering at the Geelong post season function and he was told he could never ever do business on Geelong premises again.

Sad way to end for the favourite son.

I'm glad you repeated it. I missed it the first time.

Turns out he actually was there:

Left 4 hours after Pickering did, saying goodbye to teammates/clearing out the locker?

Could've just been avoiding the media circus.

If he was saying goodbye to his teammates, surely he could've driven himself there, rather than catching a lift with Mitch Duncan.

Re: Gazza doesn't show up

How much money does he need ???? seriously. It's not like he will be broke staying at the cats.

Look at it like this.
$1.9M a season over 5 years.
Based on 22 games per season, that's $86363.63 per game
Or $21590.90 per quarter.

For a bloke who consistently gets 30 touches a game, that's $2878.78 per disposal - not a bad way to make a living!

And then think if he's injured or has a lazy day.

He will then be getting paid even more for doing less.

To have an offer like this presented to you at 26 years of age is massive.
Loyalty is an honorable trait, but stupidity is not.

Sure, he will probably still be set for life at Geelong but c'mon.
How many people are gonna want to "really" look after him once he's finished playing AFL?
And I don't think he's the type of guy to settle for a Ford car dealership in retirement.

He'll set himself up for life and you'll get over it. Better start now mate.

Meaning?

I see the bunch of grapes Juddy left for you must still be in the fridge. :)

Is it possible that you missed my complete acceptance & clear understanding of the situation, as I am fairly certain it will play out this way?

Gee, and here I was thinking I couldn't spell it out in any plainer english.
But anyways thanks for your reply, mate.
