I wonder if that will ever be possible, if a team that has nurtured, educated and developed an under contract in demand asst.coach, will be able to be trade or be compensated in some way by the club that wants them.

In the NBA I think it happened. Didn't a coach go to another club this year (can;t remember exact teams) for aa swap of draft picks etc??

Mentioned on the Melbourne board regarding the Paul Roos signing today that Simpson has agreed to be Roos' senior assistant, taking over in 2/3 years time!
With many positions up for grabs,I guess his and many other names will be thrown around

Cameron Ling will be Roosy's senior assistant, not sure where this leaves Simpson. Hopefully at Hawthorn

Also happens in the NFL, though it's more that the NFL compensates for the loss of the coach than an actual trade.

If we lose Simpson, I think the best possible replacement for him would be Leigh Tudor, Sydney's assistant coach. Is also a midfield coach, like Simmo.

Tudor's worked at Sydney the past two years, was at St Kilda before that (2010) and before he joined the Saints he was at Geelong, where he coached their VFL team to the premiership in 2007.

He rebuilt that scum list, yea I know we pulled one on him with Williams, but he was in front of the comp with pace and counter attack before getting the arse. The effing handbags are laughing having this bloke hiding down their in charge of their 2nds with nobody taking any damn notice. At the very worst just get him away from the handbags to upset them!!

Plus it would be funny watching him and Clarko having ago.

We'd be doing bloody well if we got Vossy and Ratts.... Three senior coaches on the list. We only need to make a short-term appointment for the midfield coaching role, so that Sammy can slot right into it when he calls time (his advice and experience would be second-to-none).

I still think Matthew Richardson would make a really good assistant coach if he wanted to leave the media; to me he generally makes quite good observations at games (and shuts down BT when he's being a ****ing clown), I wouldn't be surprised to learn he has some pretty good footy smarts. Lingy is the other one in the same boat, loves the game and knows so much about it (and he doesn't have the face for TV!).

Honestly don't believe Hardwick is very good, Malthouse made him look silly on the weekend. The other 2 are unproven
