Rumour Adelaide Crows camp

When we were getting pantsed in the prelim at Adelaide Oval I took it upon myself to yell good luck at Melbourne to Jake Lever throughout the entire second half. I feel I contributed to this. You can thank me later Richmond fans.

Thank you for your service.

If they werent qualified and nothing was signed then they probably werent under any obligation to keep anything confidential.

'Bring It On' had a Spirit Stick. Native Americans had/have talking sticks. So too Maoris, as well as tribes in Africa. Maybe they defecated on them all.

Or maybe its just a stupid gimmick used by clowns which usually works on rich, dumb white people. Tex and Sloane seemed to love it.
Should have used a conch shell!

Apologise for what? Didn't he or Caro start going on about people tied to trees and all the rest of it?

It just helps to illuminate what actually happened, not what a journalist chasing a headline wished had happened.

Oh, so they weren't tied to trees? Yeah this sounds much better.

He was put into a body harness with a rope attached and told to try and fight his way towards a knife to cut himself free while teammates holding the rope physically obstructed him.

Now we have have the AFL issuing an apology for things that Betts and the indigenous players were subjected to. These matters were previously investigated by the AFL and found there was nothing remotely bad occurring. So, either their previous investigation was negligent and that poor or there's new information coming out.

I think there are some dumb people in footy.

Some supposedly smart footy guys, get sucked in really easily by bullshit artists that either promise them a great business deal, some cool peptides or in this case, a mind-blowing psychological program.

These shonks have the gift of the gab, use some big words, and the footy guys take the bait.

This feels like one of those situations. These Collective Mind dudes seem incredibly amateurish, but some how the bosses at the Crows thought they were gurus.
Does Brett Burton still command respect in SA sporting circles?

“I crawled through the dirt while the camp dudes held the rope and yelled abuse at me. At one point I thought I was getting close to the knife but they dragged me back 30 metres over the gravel and mud. When I got close again, they instructed two of my biggest teammates to jump on me and push me to the ground and not let me move, while the camp dudes continued to yell abuse at me”.

Or the AFL knew everything and to avoid the media scrutiny now are apologising for anything, so the story stays on Adelaide.

To be fair, I have no issue with any of that, other than abuse and the nature of the abuse.

I have a couple of issues.

But it’s the bit that comes next… All of the group was required to do this, while the others were recruited to participate in the abuse and breaking of their friends. Eddie describes it as something he will be ashamed of for the rest of his life.

This is how these cult like trainers operate. Put everyone in a situation where they feel culpable then nobody can own to the details of what happened for years, if ever. Plus programming some lines to regurgitate if someone asks you.

Yeah agree.

As I said, physical tests and challenges that stretch you, and put you out of your comfort zone are fine, IMO. It's directly related to your day job. The context is there.

It's the other psychological stuff that they played with that sounds like the problem.

I mean, they'd do tackling drills and match simulation where they need to hit each other hard and compete physically. Betts would have competed against friends and probably relatives in actually games, where they physically challenge each other and hit each other hard.

The physical stuff on these camps doesn't freak me out anywhere near as much it seems to have others.

Some observations I’ve seen.

And in no way defending anyone at all

Both Sloan and Walker and their partners lost unborn children in 2018. Im guessing their focus after the camp happen where in other places as well.

It has also been said that at the time both Crouch brothers said they gained a lot out the camp.

Yet have both been marched out of the Crows.

And basically the only player from “Group One” that has improved playing wise after the camp is Tex

Yeah I was just thinking about this, maybe that's why there's been very little commentary from players involved about what actually happened. They're possibly ashamed or embarassed.

"Yeah I loved the camp, I jumped on the back of tied up team mates and yeld abuse at them whilst they crawled for a knife to free themselves, if they got close we dragged them further away, I think I've really grown as a husband and a father".
