Adelaide: Did they blow their golden chance?

Don't stress mate, it's a well known fact the Crows supporters are among the worst at dealing with a loss.....Especially subaru!.... On topic they're a 5-8 team this year as I think they lack depth!
My thoughts exactly, supposedly before tonight's game they had great depth, because they had only used 29 players last season... yeah right!!

Matt Crouch is worth 35-40 disposals a game. With him out it genuinely looks like we have lost 35-40 disposals. Brad Crouch's work in close is missed. Our outside players cannot get into the game with the Crouch's. That's where the problem lies.

As bad as Cameron was 3/4 of last year; atleast his speed would cut through zones and get the ball into our half.

Compounding everything is large injury list of best-22 players, fringe/developing players and a heap of players that have just come back from injury and looking well below their usual standard.

BUT YEAH NAH MIGHT AS WELL REBUILD M8!!9!111

Depth.. you have a good top end but very very little depth. That’s being exposed at the moment without the crouch brothers. Adams out and Sidebottom, Treloar, Pendles and even Grundy just obliterated you in the midfield.

Crouch, Crouch, Gibbs and Sloane all very good but there is a huge fall off after that. I couldn’t even name your 5th best mid?
Theyve traded off 2 first rounders to us so they better win or theyve really set themselves backwards

Played like an aging side tonight the Crows, that or they just have too many nice footballers. Just wonder if that Grand Final performance took the edge off and they know they’ve missed their chance.

Probably still good enough for the 8 but yeah the response against Sydney might tell us plenty from this group.

We do have a lot of injuries so it might be a little early to start talking about a rebuild. If we are still shit when we start getting players back than fair enough.

If we do start taking an axe to the list I would hope it would also include assistant coaches. We still have largely the same failed coaches box that we had under Craig and Sanderson. I'd say being the senior coach at the Crows is brutal as hell but if you can land a job as an assistant, you practically have a job for life.

I liked what Richmond did with their mini-rebuild. They backed in Hardwick but got rid of a whole bunch of dead wood assistants. I've been hoping the Crows would do this for the last 7 or 8 years. Guys like Campo, Clarke, Hart etc. are covered in loser stench. I can't understand why they escape scrutiny but if I had to guess, I'd say the Crows administration is overly conservative and unwilling to take risks. They prefer a known quantity, even if their record is nothing special. This would explain why most of our appointees are ex-Adelaide players.

The single most significant appointment at Richmond was the head-hunting of Neil Balme, who had transformed Geelong's and Collingwood's football departments in to premiership juggernauts.

We appointed Brett Burton.

Huh?? It's his first year coaching at Adelaide and you want him out?

As bad as Adelaide were against Collingwood ( which was really, really bad) it is one game.

Every team that has won the premiership that I can remember ( perhaps not Essendon in 2000) has pulled out some shocking individual games.

Last year against St kilda, Richmond looked even more comatosed than Adelaide tonight. It seriously looked like the playing group run a marathon before the game. 6 weeks later we played them again and killed them. It happens.

Collingwood brought intensity all game and for once decided to not shank every second handball and kick. They will generate a lot of confidence from this and when they get a few of their injured players, who knows what they can do. It was their night.

Huh?? Isn't this his second year coaching at Adelaide?

He coached at Adelaide before he went to Collingwood. He was terrible at both clubs. Great player, just not a great coach. It's a really underwhelming appointment. As I was saying to other Crows fans, I know it's risky to take a punt on new coaching talent but it's just plain stupid to take on a guy who has already failed in that role before. It's like going back to an abusive ex.

The least amount of wins for a minor premier since 1997 and got flogged in the GF terrible side
Wow a team without 2 of their best in and under midfielders and another one that played unfit and they are not only done for the season in ROUND 4 mind you ?
But also a terrible side ?
Are there some muppets that hibernate here
Especially Richmond supporters
Get a clue !
