Adelaide's decline

It’s a rebuild season, they have admitted this publicly which has never happened at our club. It will be hard to watch but it needs to happen. Nicks was brought in for the long haul and his selections so far have been positive, I hope it continues.

The real rebuild AFC requires hasn’t even started yet.
The sham review should have fooled nobody ...

You could always count on them for a few hidden gems you’ve never heard of to pop up and surprise everyone but it doesn’t look too promising ATM

Good recruiting late in the draft only gets you so far. You still need that core from the top end of the draft to build around.

Crows have been using the high picks on the wrong types of players. Tweeners and lightweights. You can get third talls and small forwards from the rookie draft. Need your inside mids and genuine KPP from those early picks and they haven't got that since Danger/Talia/Brad Couch which is basically ten years now. Too early McAsey but at least the right type of player last year.

Add that to the players leaving and your list is ****ed.

A club formed purely out of spite with a compliant local media gently cupping it's balls and whispering sweet nothings in it's ear for the past thirty years. Accountability has never been a huge issue for the Crows.

The AFC management are absolutely ******* useless, and are directly responsible for the terrible state of the Club.
This is the negative of controlling the media with so many sponsors, spokespeople etc etc. You control the agenda.

Having the lion share of the supporters too just allows them to fall back on numbers and shit.

I've said this for years.

I'd love to know if WCE has similar influence in the media....

Something went horribly wrong in the aftermath of the 2017 Grand Final. The loss wasn't the killer, the reaction was. The camp is the perfect example. Senior player led, coach led, administration led, the leaders of that club got that period totally wrong and it's destroyed their culture and fabric.

They need a rip apart from the top, guys like Walker need to go as well, and effectively just start again with kids, new administration and coaching, new philosophies and rebuild the club, not just the list.

They have the state support and financial resources to do it, just need the right people at the helm.

Right on cue as I just said

If they didn't like the media's opinion they just banned them (Rucci).

You gotta cop criticism, even if it's over the top.

The us against them Port mentality works for us on so many levels.

Do members have voting rights on the make up of the Board?
I know we do, unsure of them.

I'm not for one second relating the majority of the Crows fans on here as an issue, as they clearly are passionate, but the sheer volume of those who don't really care out there, and just lap up whatever they say and do holds them back greatly imo. You only need to listen to 5AA for an hour to hear it.

People need to relax. You are making Kane Cornes look measured.

They were at the top of the ladder for 3 or 4 years, now they are now starting a rebuild which means finishing near the bottom.

I think they have timed it well, and will let Brad Crouch leave at the end of the year.

Hope you are right. It's the best thing for everyone. He may not be elite, and he isnt worth a top 5 pick, but with a contract normally given to players like him to move clubs the compensation should be a first rounder (plus a B and F last year, possibly this year too). Which if the crows finish last would be pick 2.

Richmond fans take note - this is a worthy contribution.

Rucci doesn't pretend to be measured and impartial. Kornes for his numerous faults at least pretends his opinion isn't based primarily out of bias (it clearly is), Rucci just fires from the hip and cherry picks things to talk about.

That's not just the Crows either, he does it for many clubs.

Rucci was, is and always will be scum on the lowest ranks of humanity.

Thanks for proving my point.

You can't take criticism. Rucci has criticised Port countless times.

Enjoy a lack of accountability. Nothing will change

In my post I literally just threw a bone to the bloke who has the most digs at the club. My posts in the last few weeks are a testament to my belief the club is in need of really honest reflection and brutally clear direction.

I just don't think Rucci's motives are anything other than some sick crusade to destroy people for his own enjoyment.

Regardless, my views are not going to be the catalyst for Adelaide's future. Don't be so hysterical.

No, but your views are shared by the Lindys of the world.

Rucci is the least of your problems. He's actually the best thing that could happen to you. Holding the useless administration to account.

The best person to happen to us is one of our own. McLeod. He's actively worked at the club and is taking potshots at their ineptitude. If that's coming from a former champion instead of a gutter journo, then that's the potential catalyst for some change.

2017 was a genuine sliding doors moment. If they won the 2017 GF as the best side in the comp all year would they have had the poor 2018 or the poor 2019 (albeit gaining one spot on the ladder in 2019)? Would the review have happened?

On the other hand if they won in 2017 it may have papered over cracks that were already present.

The drop off may actually be a good thing (so to speak). If the issues were present while winning and are only being addressed when losing it is a good way to start to reshape the club. Now they just need to be willing to remove the issues, regardless of who/what they are.
