I'm genuinely not sure the club has been all that consistent with what they've asked of him (or any of our list management team).
In 2017 we had to accommodate all the returning players, treating them with kid gloves because the club had totally and utterly failed them.
In 2018 (and 2019) we tried to top up to compete right now with the 2017 offseason bringing on Smith, Saad & Stringer. All at reasonable trade costs, Saad actually resulted in a long-term net upgrade. 2018 brought in Shiel at significant cost.
2020 was signs of failure, which is pretty much when the actual list rebuild started (or was forced upon us).
So we've had total club suspension and trying to retain everyone in to topping up the list in to a back-filling a void of senior players and now a proper draft focused(ish) rebuild all since 2016.
Had Daniher not forced the clubs hand by demanding to be traded (twice) I'm not sure they'd have even accepted they needed to do a rebuild and wouldn't have just tried to keep topping up.
Had the club hierarchy decided after the 2016 suspensions to trade out pretty much anyone with currency and rebuild off the back of the playing group that took the field in 2016 the next 5 or so years would have looked very different.
It's 22 years not 6 and every club has issues/players demanding a trade.
End of the day he has underperformed and taken a pay check for 2 decades so see you later.
