regardless of anything else.

if you've been demonstrably shit at your job for 20~ out of 30 years, surely you'd step aside and realise that you're a stain on the club.

him and sheedy. get rid of them.

If this club had guts they'd walk him out Monday but we're too gutless

he is here forever
Club probably has but the club is not controlled by those in the club if you get what I am saying.

Dodo has made himself and others inside the club millions from property deals, with one of his biggest sales to none other than our current vice president (welsh). Of course he is still there. The club is so rotten it’s beyond saving.
Because we lost a game?

What percentage of the current list is dodo responsible for.

I wonder if those players seek his counsel when they don’t agree with Brad.
As in, responsible for recruiting?

He was supposed to have stepped back after the draft last year. So literally the entire list except for Saad El-Hawli, who is the only player we've recruited since that draft.

quoting myself instead of editing so ant gets a notification and can clarify;

If you accept ant555's assertion that the drafting hasn't been up to Dodoro for a couple of years, then potentially a few more that he didn't recruit:
2023: Caddy, Lual, Roberts, Visentini
2022: Munkara, Tsatas, Hayes, Montgomerie, Hunter

I think it was 2022 but might also be 2021: Hobbs, Lord, McDonagh, Voss, D'Ambrosio, Menzie

Father-sons and a couple of others definitely had a bit to do with Adrian as he tends to work in that space because he loves it and knew their dad when their dad played 😛

Picks nothing but consensus "best available", i swear he just looks at the mock draft each year, but also he doesn't like being exposed at the draft often so we trade picks (shiel) despite needing to rebuild. Picking durham was probably because richmond was next up and he thought he'd steal one off them meaning he was close to best available, or maybe he found a mock draft somewhere for that too. Martin was luck, caldwell and duurs trades, so yeah he's been worse than useless. Trading zerk for duurs was lucky af, was minutes from missing it cos he's proud of being difficult to deal with, which isn't helpful when you should be making moves in a rebuild.

The mock draft? You mean Twomey's best guess at who other clubs will take based on what they and their recruiters and other scouts tell him about the club's interests, needs and context?

Or do you mean power rankings? Which are still subjective mind you, but are supposed to be a list of best available. The main one as far as the AFL is concerned is usually Kevin Sheehan, but each club has their own rankings which is why they have specialised staff that spend 48 weeks a year working on the draft strategy.

but also he doesn't like being exposed at the draft often so we trade picks (shiel) despite needing to rebuild.
He was loath to trade those picks, Dan Richardson stepped over him to do the deal, and it was also 6 years ago. not exactly a trend, more of an outlier.

Rutten and Caracella would've been aware of him, along with our own VFL coaches at the time who had played against him the week before. A little bit one dimensional.
Martin was luck,
Not according to the reporting at the time; West Coast overlooked him and Dodoro told him to get his fitness base up. Martin put his head down and hired his own personal trainer to get it there.

If there's one player Dodoro gets credit for out of the entire list, it's Martin.

who do you think romances the players and their managers and does the deals to get them here?

got a sauce for that?

"It depends on what Adrian wants to do ... "

My god ...

This will simply never end.

That was the shittest answer ever but at least it confirms what many have long suspected. The guy is allowed to run his own race.

For god's sake, Barham, cut him loose.

Personally I think it is a nothing story.
I accept that most would like to see the back of him . He was an average list manager that lacked the skillset to build a balanced list . He had a chance at redemption after the saga but it fell short so I understand people not wanting to see him.
I am in the minority but I do not really care as he is not making any decisions on players either FA / Trade or draft. You can take it to the bank over and over. Scott / McPherson / Rosa / Vozzo are making the list decisions . RFK is making the draft decisions based on what player types Scott and co are looking for.
Dodoro is working minimal hours a week talking to player managers in regards to contracts and players we may be interested in. He has no free reign . He playing within the lanes of what has been set out. He may not go for a while if they deem Rosa's energy is better spent focusing on the list decisions and not the back room negotiations.
They have pretty much given Dodoro the one job he is actually good at. The argy bargy of dealing with player managers.
It is basically this is our highest dollar value . Make it happen for less or this is the guy we want sweet talk his manager and get him on board.
That may be his role but his roots are deep. He has a sphere of influence at the club that extends beyond the title on a person's desk. I'd like him gone.

Dodoro's going to cut Barham loose if things don't improve at the club pretty soon.
Adrian Dodoro is the real life Chuck Norris
