Seriously, we need to calm down and stop getting ahead of ourseleves. We arent exactly cashed up at the moment and arent exactly a world cup favourite so how do you expect to attract the best of the best?

Advocaat has a proven record, most importantly in Asia, and recently at that! The Koreans had a tougher group than us at the World Cup and went out to a well drilled Swiss unit who didnt concede the whole tournament. They drew 1-1 with France who went on and made the final, and beat Togo, coming from behind. They had one win, one draw, just like us!

He is the best value coach for us, I reckon 2 million is a good price, Id rather we spend more money on setting up a youth league and academies and further expanding the A League.

Its good an all to say that korea were never favourites to make it out, explain that to their fans, although i cant exactly remember how well they went it wasnt to well from what i remember

Vast majority of Koreans know bugger all about soccer but get swept in all the nationalistic fervour once every four years the World Cup arrives. Most Koreans were fully expecting to match their efforts of 2002 and many were thinking they could actually win the World Cup! There were only a few rational people I spoke to who were realistic about the Korean side and its ability leading into the World Cup. The rest went postal, email-bombing FIFA's website, making death threats to the Swiss Embassy and dropping their dacks in protest once they lost to Switzerland and were knocked out in the group phases.

Taking on the Korean national team as coach is a poisoned challis given Koreans' fanatic bandwagon support of the national team, xenophobia and scapegoating once the team goes belly up. I respect Advocaat for accepting that challenge knowing fully well what was going to happen if Korea didn't go as well as their public's unreal expectations.
