Hectic work schedule lately and time is precious. So unlikely to be able to watch the whole show unfortunately. 15 matches or whatever it was is ridiculously long.

Could someone kindly let me know what 5 or so matches/segments were can’t miss? Obviously the MJF return is one.

1. Ladder match.
2. 6 Man Tag Titles.
3. Pinnacle vs Lethal and MCMG.
4. Tag Titles.
5. World Title.

Skim through Christian vs Jungle Boy as well for storyline purposes.

I fast forward them, I don't like anything they do it's literal crap. I call BS on the melee backstage too, those geeks would have been still glued to their video games. Punk basically told them to go find him if they have a problem, but they'd rather leak to their buddies in the press than confront Punk.

What did Punk say that was a lie?

Starks injured? Or leaving? Because otherwise that’s some bizarre booking.
To me it looks like he hit his head on the mat from the spinebuster, took the pin, rolled out and was getting looked out.

Wowee, watched a bit more of the Punk media scrum, not just the snippet on twitter....man that was fascinating to watch. Every question he brought back to Colt/TYB/Omega...if that stuff wasn't a shoot, it's top shelf kayfabe.

Sad there's been that much of a breakdown, hopefully still a chance to see Omega/Punk in the future.

Tbh I had no idea how interesting the scrums were, I just assumed they'd be keeping kayfabe which is boring. I might go back and watch the others now 😅

First thing I’ll say is that I enjoyed that show much more than I expected to.

But the second thing I’ll say is that you all have much more will-power than me. I enjoyed the show, there was heaps to like - but it’s still taken me all day to watch it. It’s just so wrestling heavy, with so few breaks, I can’t do the whole 5 hours straight up. I needed a break after the pre-show and watching Kingston and Ishii beat the shit out of each other. Kingston does that Kings Road style better than anyone.

There was some pretty random booking too.

I don’t know why Mox beat Punk in 3 minutes, then dominated 90% today, then lost.

I don’t know why a thrown together three way beat HOB when they need heel trios. (Black’s shoulders weren’t even down.)

I don’t know why Jericho beat Danielson - much easier for a heel to get his heat back.

I didn’t love the end of the ladder match despite the reveal at the end. Did anyone not know who it was?

And they need to stop emphasising the number of Cargill’s wins. Im watching that match and my first thought is “these 2 have no chemistry.” My second thought is “Cargill doesn’t have chemistry with anyone.” My third thought is “wait, what happened to Stokely? This booking sucks!”

And my fourth thought is “37-0 and she’s yet to have a good match.”

On the other hand, I did really like the main event, it looked so much like a real fight. I just didn’t like the result.

Same with the tag title match - really good match, but it was time to crown The Acclaimed. I love Swerve & Keith Lee, but their tag reign has been really unimpressive. They feel like transitional champs who’ve held them too long.

I was happy that Toni won, but I almost think Hayter vs Baker would be better with the belt.

And I liked the storyline development of the trios, but they didn’t come close to topping Elite vs United Empire or Death Triangle vs United Empire in terms of match quality.

Much as I thought this was a really entertaining show, I’m not sure anything on the main card topped Kingston & Ishii.

MJF is gonna have a bloody hard time being the heel in all this, and it will be interesting to see how Punk handles being heavily booed and jeered every week as long as MJF is coming for him..

I’ve been trying to tell you all for weeks - MJF ain’t the bad guy here.

Punk in Chicago is Bret in Canada at this stage. He’s the heel - most people just haven’t realised yet.

Whether it’s a work or shoot, it’s a shame it’s overshadowing the PPV. Especially now where all the focus should be on MJF in my opinion.

MJF will get huge cheers either way. But MJF being a good guy, or even a tweener, doesn't really explain his heel group of lackeys.

Punk going all in on Cabana, Page, EVPs and people who think he tried to get Cabana fired.

I’ve only just finished watching obviously, so I’m only just catching up - but if that’s a shoot they should fire him immediately. **** the belt, that’s unprofessional as shit.

I don’t think he’ll have the lackeys for long, I think he’s used Hathaway for today.

He’s the devil, remember?

Show was a good one, but felt different to previous AEW PPV's. Not in a bad way, but in a noticeable way.

1. No plunder brawl aside from the ladder match and even that wasn't as over the top as you'd expect.
2. Very little blood aside from one match.
3. Storyline heavy. Disappointed we didn't see Christian vs Jungle Boy for example. When will it happen now?

Also, perhaps it's due to Punk being my all time favourite wrestler, but despite the 'unprofessional' nature of his accusations, if they're entirely true I back him 100%.

Punk calling these blokes out at a media scrum still isn't as unprofessional as what Adam Page did live on Dynamite without Punks knowledge.

Punk ain't being a heel, I think if the last few months have shown, they aren't afraid to throw baby faces against each other.

Tbh I had no idea how interesting the scrums were, I just assumed they'd be keeping kayfabe which is boring. I might go back and watch the others now 😅

I haven't really watched them, but Punk was so open, it was hard to not keep watching.

I think they flow between being kayfabe and shoot which is bit odd. Punk saying "Tony keeps me working with pricks" when talking about MJF, but then refers to Adam Cole as a sweetheart.... something different though - and they're obviously aimed at the hardcore fans that consume every bit of content.

I’m going to assume that Punk was shooting for now.

Having watched the media scrum, it’s bonkers seeing Punk’s behaviour as one of their “senior”, most experienced wrestlers, compared to the maturity of Jericho, who truly is building a wrestling company and not just doing business for himself.

Also, just re-watching the MJF stuff.

“Sympathy for the Devil” by the Stones… ****ing incredible! When you put that part together? So good.

Don’t ignore the first word of that song title

Think people are being a little hysterical saying the post show media scrum is overshadowing MJF.... majority of the audience won't know/care.
Think it has in someway instead of the buzz being about MJF return you know for the next week or two all people will run with is that the Bucks/Page/Kenny are all pissed off.

I'm abit conflicted on this media scrum as I love myself some CM Punk.

If this is 100% a shoot, did he go the right way about it? Probably not. Do the Bucks deserve to be called out for their bullshit and being unprofessional by leaking stories and making your biggest draw card look bad? Absolutely.

I'm just hoping this leads to a Kenny/Bucks Vs Punk/FTR with Cornette in their corner 😉
