What the **** did you do to the ruckman?

If you punch/tap the ball forward when you get the ball it's on your defensive side of the centre... I punch the ball 20m forward, the opposition pick it up and it's 70m out from their goal...

AFL 2004 (I think that's the one) is still the best of them by far.

Hold the direction you want to punch it before and while you press the punch/Tap button...

Bought the game today and quite happy with it. Just a few of my thoughts on the game-

-too much smothering
-its hard to get a kick away without getting tackled sometimes(probably just me)
-like last year i like the 'mini goals' when you are shooting at goal, however its like impossible to score quickly under pressure as soon as you recieve the ball. i.e if i press sqaure to shoot it will go in the points if i dont wait for 'mini footy' to be in the correct position.
-im not sure if this is a mistake but when i go to save my career, the box that comes up has (press triangle for) save and (press x for) exit. Shouldnt it be the other way around? (the words save and exit might not be right i just can't remember exactly)
- i like it how this year (so far) one of my players doesnt get reported or injured every 10 seconds

hopefully my comments make sense as some of them were hard to explain what i meant.

Dont you need a working ps2 for that?
I had it all planned out that I was gonna get the one out at dads house (hes away ATM).

I rung up all the shops in the town I was gonna drive to to get it and NONE of them have it in.

Just like yesterday I was at another town and no one had it either.

Wat the ****s going on

FH in my field of work mistakes can cost a lot of money. In some fields like medecine or the aircraft indusrty mistakes can possibly cost lives. Hence if mistakes are made there is comprehensive review procedures to ensure they dont happen again.

In the context of the gaming industry do any such procedures exist? It seems so very very common that absolutely blatant mistakes are not picked up. It doesnt seem professional at all. Is this a deliberate act so that game producers can make another game with these mistakes repaired so people will buy the next version of the game? i'e do they do this deliberatley as a means of taking more money from consumers? Sounds pretty filfthy if you ask me....

Nah you've been watching too many consipracy shows mate. It was a simple mistake that can happen anywhere, anytime. We've put our hands up and stated it was such. We do our very best to make sure the product is the best we can make it. It just so happened that the functionality of one screen wasn't as intended. Luckily for us and in particular you, it doesn't affect gameplay and was merely an extension of an already existing feature. Don't read anything into it.

Yeah I don't think it's a mistake, but it is confusing because its not conventional....
Maybe it was implemented to avoid people accidentally saving over something they want to keep (i.e press X quickly to get through the menus...)

Yes that is exactly the reason for it. From memory it was a Sony request/standard.

Game looks good so far, from the videos that is. The gamepaly just looks a lot more fluent and smoother. I'm happy with pretty much everything I saw, except for the amount of smothering. I'll be purchasing the game either later on today or tomorrow afternoon ^^.

Btw Fiery Hawk, it's VerMillioN009 from the GameSpot forum. I took your advice and thought I'd come over here, better discussion on the game. :p

its tell me this current title is not compatible, ive still got a ps2 so i can still play it but thats not the point would be easier to use my ps3.

do you have the current system update installed?? thinks its version 1.81...not sure if it makes a difference, but i know that with each update more ps2 games become compatible with the ps3

Just thought I'd drop in and say I've been following this thread with keen interest, and was considering heading straight out to buy it today.

Unfortunately when I read the comments about the draft after you finish a season, my heart sank. Many gamers would be looking to play multiple seasons with at least some sense of near-realism in playing lineups, but if it's the same as last year in terms of the big names being the ones let go by clubs, it's making me reconsider my intention to purchase 07.

Are there the editing capabilities in the game to keep the team lists largely the same from season to season by making the trades manually? I was thinking you could simulate your own realistic draft and keep the youngsters at their allocated clubs but by and large keep the big stars where you'd expect them to be.

Hear here.

Hey does anyone know how long it will take for afl 2007 to get on the intrernet so i can download it for ps2 of azureus bitcomet etc because i have a chip in my ps2 so im wondering how long will it take to get up on the net.

Gameplay wise i think its really good and the smothers dont bother me that much.
The draft is the biggest dissapointment tho and id say having to delist 9 players is the biggest reason why. It should have been cut to 5 or 6 to compensate for the rookies seen as they are on the main list. Considering this was a massive complaint from last year i am dissapointed it wasnt fixed. I know a complete overhaul would have taken toooo long but surely a tweak in the delisting part would of been managable.

It still amazes me how bugs get thro when players notice the bugs first time they play. Maybe get some outside game testers in for a day to get fresh eyes on the content.
If i make a mistake at work i have to go back and fix it and it costs me money but if game companies make a mistake it just gets blown off.(Directed at all game companies) Well atleast PC games get patches which isnt as bad but console games should definetly be as bug free as possible.
