Just watched Fagan’s presser and he is a class act. I’d be proud to have him leading my footy club. I know people will castigate the finals record and I’ve had a go at a poster or two on here re. straight sets (my apologies), but it’s good to see an obviously good person in a senior coach role.

I personally hope the lions win a flag during his tenure, hopefully not at the expense of the dogs.

Literally the least relevant statistic in football. If a team doesnt infringe much they wont give many frees away.

Geelong kicked 12.5 against us and the game was at Kardinia Park. Different kettle of fish.

We missed 3 dead in front, 3 oof, and 2 spoiled on the line. Most of their misses were tougher shots.

Nah, just call a last minute free kick from a clumsy ruck contest that takes place throughout every game yet rarely gets paid and all will be ok.
How many other centre square ruck block free's were paid tonight?

Obvious free. Mcinerney looked directly at English, ran under the ball (it ended up a metre behind him), and gave English no chance to contest it. Complain about a bunch of other frees, but that was stupid by Mcinerney and clear cut.

Ok, let’s take those 5 free kick goals off the Bulldogs and change the score…. guess what? You still lost.

For fun let’s take the other 2 that weren’t from a free kick and change the score….. guess what? You still lost.

Come on, the last 5 goals of the game were junk time, the umpires screwed essendon badly, hard fought 3rd qtr only 2 goals scored , both dodgy frees to the bulldogs, which took the wind out of their sails. If that game was umpired fairly the bulldogs may still have won, but the margin would be nowhere near 49 points

Yeah, it's a shame when the umpires detract from it. Look, I thought both teams played brilliant footy tonight, and it was a ripping game. But I don't think a reasonably umpired final quarter would have been 10-2 free kicks. I don't think there's any real conspiracy, but I do think the umpries made a number of errors, and those errors, for the most part, went against Brisbane.

As a Tigers supporters in Round 10 v Lions it was 20-6 frees at HT….. I was messaging my Lions mate fairly annoyed, who said the umpiring was not a factor and Lions were just too composed. At the time I begged to differ given we were only down by 7 points, but he let me know umpires don’t influence games. Needless to say I’ve held off messaging him…. but boy it was tempting. Just gotta suck it up unfortunately. It swung your way round 10 and swung back tonight.
