I've been thinking Sydney should be able to win this one, but I can't get rid of this nagging suspicion that Lions may get up. Classic on-the-fence thinking, but I truly cannot pick a winner.

The Lions are a really good team, and their fans deserve to be confident, just like Swans fans are confident, as both teams have shown extended stretches of high quality footy.

My prediction is that we've come back into form at the right time of the season. We'll shut down Zorko and pressure the Lions into more turnovers than they would like and Lizard and JMac punish them for it, getting out to a decent half time lead despite Heeney and Gulden being held relatively quiet thanks to attention from the likes of Dunkley and Berry.

Without Big O they won't be able to turn the game back in their favour as they have in recent games, and while both teams will trade goals in the final quarter to keep it interesting, we'll be able to keep them at arms length until the final siren for a 15 point victory.

Whatever happens, I'm looking forward to what will hopefully be a cracking game of footy.

What's more relevant, early season form or more recent form? Because that's what separated them in terms of ladder positioning. Swans had a great first half of the season but faltered in the back half. Brisbane had a poor start but have come home roaring.

Brisbane have won 14 of their last 15. Swans have won 10 of their last 15.

This is a massive result for the game. Huge. Irrespective of who wins we are going to get a neutral GF. The first since the forced 2021 GF and then 2006. It’s the way it should be. For all this talk of Sydney academies and advantages etc, the Victorian clubs will never be weak. Hawthorn, Collingwood, Geelong, Richmond, Carlton will all continue to be strong organisations and will field sides in contention for premierships.

These ‘advantages’ to the NSW sides are false. We have seen a mass exodus of players over the years from non Victorian clubs to bolster Victorian clubs and aid them in their flag quests.

I fail to see any disadvantages to Victorian clubs as the well run MCG tenant clubs will always be successful. NSW needs strong AFL presence. So does QLD.
