Ashcroft was NOT the BOG. Kai was robbed
I thought Lohmann's poise in the 1st qtr was the most settling thing and then the rest of the side ran on with it. Ashcroft was great, but Lohmann's early deeds were immense and set the tone... and then the Swans shit the bed... which is always great. Hopefully this one really breaks them and they can just remain a bourgeois sydney team without forcing the rest of us to have to watch them in September.

Darcy Fort the latest winner of the Jonathan Simpkin Prize for an ex-Cat to unexpectedly win a premiership medal when their career looked over.

Presented to him by Brodie Grundy, who also handed out the 2018 award to Nathan Vardy.

The match is just as good the second time around. What a win for the mighty Brisbane Lions and (going early) they are a HUGE chance to go back to back. Superstars on every line, a premiership winning coach that knows what it takes to win... look out for a threepeat of a new era for the Lions!! ROAR!!!
Will be interesting to see how they go - if this small forward line is the thing that wins flags (lohman, Charlie, Bailey, Ah Chee) then we'll see how GWS and Carlton go with gun key forwards that regularly take marks - and if they become an antidote to this.

But yeh - they've done it the right way - slow rebuild, then a grand final disappointment, then a HUGE GF win after a tough finals series of close gritty wins.

Johnny’s GF performances not looking good . What if Swan’s are top of the league next next year at 13-2? Doesn’t mean a thing … Longmire needs to go….
I think this is too extreme.

Making a grand final seems to be a different challenge to winning one - but look at that Sydney forward line and it's amazing they've kicked a winning score at all this year. They paeked too early and didn't have the listdepth to throw things around in the leadup to finals.

I don't think that's a sackable offense even though they went in favoutires.

Their midfield will need to stay strong and "on song"
Likewise the backline

I think it all just clicked for them in the right way at the right time. They could have missed finals (ala Collingwood) with a few more losses (than what they had) earlier in the year.

AND How good was the atmosphere, daytime football is pretty fantastic stuff. Wouldn't have had the same atmosphere at night.
