Blues had the rub in the first half. Dees had the rub in the second half.

Coincidentally the side that got more free kicks was the side playing better.

Great win but the close games are getting old.
Funny that. You put more pressure on, get to the ball quicker, defend harder, you usually get the frees....unless you are Richmond

Bro he is lucky it wasn’t 50, he called the umpire a “dumb green skinny midget” and said he hoped that he got into an accident on the way home or something to that effect. Heard it on the broadcast and had to turn it up to hear it.

Probably get a good holiday too for that
you mean 50, like when Hollands should've thrown the ball back to us but just dropped the ball and the ump did nothing.

If Carlton lost there would be 0 talk of the umpiring in the second half. It swung in Melbourne’s favour as they got on top.

We dominated them for two quarters. They dominated us for two quarters. Unfortunately only one side can be a winner.

Unless you're going to show me the 4 Walsh holding the balls not paid and try to tell me that the Van Rooyen was a dangerous tackle then we'll never agree.
HTB is adjudicated like this every single game. I don't agree with it, but you cannot rely on being second to the ball and relying on HTB decisions that are so rarely paid in the modern game. You need your second and third players to strip the ball off the person being tackled.

Would have been an impressive loss.

Letting a team with no forward line kick that many goals on you in wet weather conditions.

Umps the difference in this one. danster168 was right.

Classic.

McGovern arm chop no call, Melbourne goal.

Newman sling, no call.

You had the umpires all game except for one dodgy call.

Nowhere near it without them sore loser

Jeez that dodgy dangerous tackle for Kemp flopping his head is going to be telling.
Yeah, that's THE single decision that decided the game. Not ANY of the other wrong or missed calls.
The Cripps HTB with no prior was pretty ordinary too. Just to name one. There were missed/wrong calls both ways all night. You can't boil a 4 quarter, 120min game down to one call.

Disagree. Not much between Blues, Dees, Pies and Cats. All have strengths but also weaknesses that can make them look ordinary at times.
Geelong and Collingwood at their best have the rest covered. Sydney are very close this year though.

you mean the umps shut up shop. With neutral umps we win that by 4 goals. that's clear after tonight. The Van Rooyen dangerous tackle that disallowed our goal...yeah ok umpire. or the 5 holding the balls against Walsh not paid. pathetic
The umps blew free kick melbourne 6-0 in the 3rd term and you made no ground on the scoreboard champ quit crying you were flogged and almost lucky enough to get a choke win
