Giving up 100 points to that Essendon attack isn't ideal if we are being honest.
I don’t think it’s too much of a concern, Bombers kicked 6 goals in the last quarter after our pressure dropped off a bit.

Plus the game was clearly played on our terms and we chose to keep it open and free flowing, it’s only natural you’re gonna concede few more scores in that scenario.

Would’ve thought coach might have asked the team to practice their defence since the game was sewed up. Chasing % in round 2??

Highest paid player in the league last year.
As a 1 vs 1 body up defender he's outstanding. My criticism of him was purely around his work after that. I'd have subbed him off at half time purely to make a point. Effort isn't talent or ability based which is the main reason for that loss, Essendon's lack there of

34 pts to half time. Let them pile on goals in the second half when the result was already sorted. Some lazy efforts yes but who would want to risk an injury?

I’d continue to crack in to honour the crow

Because you are obsessed with low scoring or Ross Lyon games LoL
wtf are you talking about? I couldn’t given shit about low scoring games.

You're not concerned whatsoever that you conceded 100 points today?
We subbed our best player off (and the best player on the ground to that stage) halfway through the 3rd quarter. Essendon do not struggle to score (kicked 84 last week against the Hawks too), but they are diabolical defensively.

Good teams punish bad defensive teams, something we haven’t seen from the Crows since 2017.

2023 we were a super attacking side and took a big step forward.

Last year Nicks slowed our game down and we struggled.

So while we will need to be tighter defensively, I’d much rather see us prioritising giving our forward line the supply we did today, then build the defence in to that.

That’s fine but the oppo defence isn’t even a training run.

Fair enough.

Tbh I think now there’s a bit of hype people are judging us as to whether we’re a top side.

We’re not and I’ll still be very happy with a finals finish.

Curtin, Thilthorpe, Rachele, Soligo, Michalanney, Worrell, Murray and Draper are still a good 1-4 years of their primes.

Crows played their best game for many years.

Keep this up and they look top 4.

Belted essendon all ends up.

essendon were crap today.

Crap every week they will be.

Crows looked the goods today

Nice theory but we have a very different line-up this year. All of our weak link players have been replaced by very good players. We are a very, very good chance to be top 4.

Out from 2024 - Murphy, McHenry, Himmelberg, Jones, Smith, Berry .......

In from 2024 - Murray, Milera, Peatling, Cumming, Neal-Bullen, Draper.......

Jordan Dawson a chance for the Brownlow......
I think Adelaide will improve massively on the last couple years. They aren't a threat to win the flag though. I think Adelaide are still a couple of years away from seriously challenging and I'd be predicting around 2027 / 2028. My prediction for top 4 hasn't changed from the end of last year, Brisbane, GWS, Geelong and one of Sydney, Carlton or Collingwood with Hawthorn finishing 5th. I'll say Sydney for no other reason than I follow them although realistically it's probably Collingwood that does it given their star factor.
