Kanes not a dumbass, his schtick is to create emotion in people so they tune into what he says. Whether it's positive or negative he doesn't care, as long as he gets the audience.

His opinions are best ignored otherwise you are buying into this business model.

he knows rubbing up big Melbourne clubs will get him the biggest response.
Bingo!
Kane Kornball.

Port looked okay early on, lots of run and overlap even though they often broke down at half forward when a precision kick was needed. By the last half of qtr 4, they lost all their run and were just kicking to contests. Is it fitness? Sure looked like it.

Bombers had similar problems, errors and turnovers in their forward half, but once Port's run and pressure stopped, 4 goals on the trot. Finished well.

Large parts of the game were attacks that broke down, then the other side attacked and broke down, and the game oscillated a lot between the arcs. It reminded me of when 2 kicking union sides play, and the ball goes back and forth for long stretches.

Dynamic mobile forwards with precision kicking inside 50 is now the benchmark. The best sides have it, the others don't.

Port don't look like they even had a pre season fitness programme.

It's the complaining about a questionable free against Port and then leaping to defend the umpire when they get one themselves that makes my eyes roll into the back of my head.
Luckily it’s the last you’ll need to watch that under sufferance. Sorry it ruined your enjoyment of your teams deserved win.

At least now you know how the rest of Australia feels listening to BT JB Richo Hodge Hamish etc barracking for Vic based teams on a Thu Fri night. Every week.

That’s a great post explaining what Carr is looking to turn Port’s game plan into.
Very much attacking running and handball through the corridor. We have the midfield cattle to do that but it does need a fitness base. With a deceptively young team we’re playing there is some time and optimism.

Forward line is a worry for us. We’ve retired Dixon, Marshall out for the year, Lukosius out for much the year, Lord no preseason after an early shoulder injury, Finlayson looks shot, Whitlock is too early in the career. Leaves Georgiades as the sole KPF. Berry and Richards look like good additions along Rioli in the forward half.

Like most things in football, things are rarely as good or as bad as they seem. A poor start to the season but reckon we’ll be around the finals mark come end of year again, won’t be shocked if we fall short though.

So you agree, it's insufferable.

Why does Kane never send out his smart tweets when Port loses? Most opinionated bloke in the world until he needs to clip Port. He eventually has to do it because of the ridiculous amount of platforms he is on.
He'll honestly do whatever it takes to keep his brother in employment.
There's a notable drop off in salary between AFL Line Coach and F45 Trainer!

Ken hand held Kane to 300 games well past what he should have reached, he’s always held a very soft spot for him and rarely criticises him.

He’s also I’m sure well aware that his brother Chad, whose one of the most useless forwards coaches in the game, will likely be turfed the moment Carr gets to set his own agenda.

For Kane it’s a mix of his love for Ken and then his brother that means he has a huge blind spot when it comes to anything remotely critical of Ken.
I actually heard him referred to as "Ports Point Kicking Coach" on SEN.SA. 😆

It's always good to be realistically positive. The alternative is pessimism and that leads to nihilism which leads to all sorts of terrible things. So I like your attitude!

The forwards don't need to be tall. Tiges 2017 and Hawks now, there may be other examples (?), with forwards running different patterns that are tough for oppo to work out, and then space is created and then run into that space. Does need good delivery though.

Port came to win, at least, they had a crack early, didn't pan out, that's life, get back on the horse (the Roy Higgins type, not the Lou Reed type, lol), go again, keep improving.

Good response from the Bombers last night. Let's see if they sustain it.
I think it was more that Port were completely insipid. I think last night said more about Port than us.

Indeed, but reckon he will be gone as soon as they are out of the finals race.

They should have stayed silent on the coaching handover as only helped self-destruct their season.
Any handover a year in advance or even half way into the season doesn't end well.

Collingwood going from Mick Malthouse to Nathan Buckley at the end of 2011 was a fine example
