Melbourne will likely win but I seriously hope we don’t. We need a flogging again to keep the heat on Goodwin. If we do win it’ll do nothing for the hole we are in as a club.

I can see them bouncing back but I doubt the list has what it takes to make an impact.
If the Suns are ready to play finals they just have to win games like this. Will they break their tag as the least trustworthy team in the comp (especially on the road)?

Huge opportunity for us to take a step forward at the home of footy in this game and we basically have a 100% failure rate in these situations over the course of our history. So I'm not confident for that reason, but... maybe this time will be different? The midfield battle should be fascinating.

I would be more confident if Melbourne snuck across the line last week.

A week of heat on the Dees and Max Gawn probably means they pull out a vintage performance and belt us like late last year.

We have very little exposed form outside of going to WA and beating WC comfortably.

Dees probably win, but I feel more confident about us putting a strong performance than I would have previously. Pretty much a full strength team outside of Ballard.

love a game at the MCG, we dont get many
saw this posted on our board

Games played at the MCG

Daniel Rioli 102
John Noble 59
Gold Coast SUNS 18
It will be awful spectacle on TV at midday with sun and shade parts and empty stands. I suspect 20K max or more likely 15K crowd (there was 23K at GWS game).

One day we need to take a next step. It does not mean we will win but the time seems about right.

The contest side, ball movement, run against Eagles was impressive. To get tested by desperate Demons should be fun. Let's see how we handle pressure. We suddenly became a good ball users by adding Rioli, Noble to Weller, Budarick, Powell, Rogers, Jeffrey and run hard. MCG should suit us.

Looking forward to midfield battle and to see how Andrew, Walter and Flangers go.

If we don't show up we are still stuck in the same spot.

Demon vs North game felt like Demons run is coming to end and a new dawn started for North. Let's take it to another level too, haha.

Probably also worth pointing out that we've won our last two games in Melbourne against the Bombers at Marvel and Richmond at the MCG. For a team that was so heavily criticised for its away form last year, we're actually on a bit of a roll playing games down there and we've also secured three wins in our last three away games. Would be fantastic for the club if we continued those winning streaks on Saturday arvo against the Dees.

Would also be awesome to roll into our first home game of the year next week placed inside the top 4 and a win against the Dees in this game should make that a reality.

Based on the season so far, Melbourne will win by 50 and we’ll still have no idea who is actually any good.

These are the games the Suns need to win to be taken seriously, but until they do consistently, it’s hard to back them with any confidence. Melbourne should come out firing and who knows how this weird start to the season impacts the Suns, who struggle against the Dees anyway.

It’s not exactly going to be one for the archives either way I don’t think.
