Whilst the game was a fair mess at launch, and that is an issue, I think we should nevertheless appreciate the rapidness of the fixes. Most games companies would take months and provide minimal customer communication throughout the process.

Had a crash, checked windows applications in Event Viewer and it says it's related to ucrtbase.dll. Some googling says that in many games, when this is the issue, try disabling Windows Audio in the Services App, start the game, then restart Windows Audio.
I'm trying that now but I won't really know if it works until I have 4-5 non-crashed games. If anyone else wants to try, it'd be nice to know if your game still crashes.
Seems like for most games, it's a way to bypass crashes on startup but I found a few people saying it stopped various games crashing later on too.

Not confirmed that this was the reason but this method did get me 5-6 games in a row the other day. Turn it off, launch the game, turn it back on.
Didn't try it tonight but I'll give it more of a go tomorrow.
Only downside Ive seen is that I lost audio in Geforce recordings.

will the issue of player switching be addressed?, haven't seen a lot of talk about it here. you literally can't switch players when manning the mark, and AI players on your team literally don't move, makes the game impossible when the easiest difficulty opponents can walk up the field and have 5 open blokes inside forward 50

In this new patch, I'm still getting those backwards runs when turning and can't hand ball in the direction I'm pointing my analog stick in. It's nice to be able to bounce whenever now, but when I attempt to take my first bounce, it doesn't respond until my second or third attempt pressing down LS.

Woah, they took my L3/R3 manual bounce idea, but I thought R3 would have been easier to use.
Better flow with L3 IMO, feels way more natural, very happy they added this and good on them for listening to fans as I’m pretty sure the old system of bouncing without sprinting was supposed to be permanent

Alright, stream completed.

some thoughts to share for BigAntStudios and JNT BA

PROS:
-I personally felt the ball movement piece was very good. handball chains work, players keep running, I have put a few videos below. those who were watching can probably attest to this.
-AI still tough, noticed a few spoils too which was good.
-Noticed the AI kick a few points in one of the games, not sure if it was a 1 off or not.
-Tutorial menu looks good!
-I think this played better again than yesterday, which I also have an enjoyable experience with. Definitely moving in the right direction.
-Did notice the dynamic crowd effect in the management game vs eagles, empty seats including a reasonable empty MCC area.
-The missed tackle feature was very very good. I noticed it especially at clearances you were able to shrug a tackle occasionally which would result in a nice inside 50 pass. but it didnt happen all the time which was good.

CONS:
-Online games are still very very buggy. twice in the 1 game i was able to play the ball glitched where it couldn't be picked up by either player and we could only soccer the ball for the rest of the quarter. Unfortunately this happened in the 1st quarter and again in the last during a really tight game with bood and really killed the end of the game.
-Definitely a lot more teleporting noticeable in online games.
-Goal umpire taking ball ups still
-Still only 'quick' game in online
-I had 2 x crashes tonight on stream and had 2 off stream. The 2 on stream were both in management mode during the game. the last one I was up in the last quarter with not long left and bang, gone.
-Would love to see bumping added soon
-Still not sure wind is playing a factor in goal kicking

thats all I can think of for now.

Despite the CONs list being longer than the pro list, for me personally, the game is heading in the right direction. the last 2 nights it has definitely been playable and enjoyable, with handball chains, clean passing etc.

I know there are other priorities in order but i would just love to see the online game piece cleaned up a bit so it replicates how clean the other modes are currently.

Here are some clips from the stream with some ball movement etc.

(I'm not sure wtf happened to my overlays there blowing up, they aren't usually that big. sorry about that)

Seconded. It really needs to be sorted soon.

Most companies wouldn't release a game this broken, with fundamental gameplay not working properly or completely absent and the game itself so unstable that crashes are expected on every session.

This is truly like a Steam early access game being sold as a completed product for full price.

I wonder if the online codebase is seperate to management mode? Or maybe just not fixed yet.

I was getting this bug on launch night.

I think the game, especially in the state it is, is way too unrealistically fast. That really makes things impossible to deal with, because you can't hand ball in the direction you're pointing your analog stick in, the kick meter takes too long to fill up, the players don't respond to commands.

I was able to kick and handball where I wanted to at least 80% of the time and it worked fine.

the missed tackle has help offset the kick meter in some cases but there is still definitely work to be done on tweaking the kick meter or teleporting.

They also kept the stop sprinting bounce in the game as an alternative bounce option.

Big Ant should make the kick/hand ball meter quicker to fill up. The CPU get instant long kicks.

Are ground dimensions actually different ?
Cause the SCG feels the same size as the MCG to me
If not, can someone ask Ross if this is something that will be adjusted ?
Been out in the middle of both IRL and not much difference really. ;)

yep, only has to be a nanosecond quick and it will feel a lot better again.

I think the core gameplay is in a really good place. Looking forward to more features and modes to add depth to the game. (State leagues pls)
