I’m confused. What’s wild exactly? Just that he’s playing the AFL game?
Because he has got 13 million followers, ie he's advertising the game to millions of people, especially to an untapped overseas market, Americans particularly, ie an influencer. It could also start a chain reaction where other American e-celebs do gameplay videos, influencing many people to go and buy the game, who are from overseas. I've seen that happen in the indie scene, remember Untitled Goose Game? A game made by another Melbourne based developer that sold millions, because there were influencers promoting it all over social media.

Fair enough. Although the United States Australian Football League is long running in the States with plenty of teams and players across the country, so it’s not completely foreign to them.

I guess I expected more from the Wild description 😁

That's a small amatuer league with only 2000 registered players. Most Americans don't know what Aussie Rules is, I've introduced it to many I've corresponded with, in fact. The wild part is due to the game getting that much advertising on social media, especially to Americans who aren't really aware of Aussie Rules existing, other than the few you mentioned.

Unfortunately I don’t see too many in the comments section saying they’re running out to buy the game.

Wildness aside though, any coverage is better than no coverage so even if a few people pick it up, that’s a bonus.

Most reactions to the video are of his reaction to not having a clue, not how awesome or interesting the game looks.

Even games that are not at masterpiece levels that maybe roasted by the influencer, but give it mass attention sell the games.

Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy is another example of an Australian developer getting their game sold millions, because of influencers promoting it on social media. And that game is very frustrating, it's not easy.

Wtf is going on with interchanges, they work manually for one game then they are busted the next
Works 100% of the time for me as the home team, then works 0% of the time as the away team for me

I never would have imagined an American e-celeb like penguinz0 with 13 million subscribers to play the game. This is wild.

I can't watch the vid (damn work having the gall to block videos on my work laptop) - was he positive about the game? Or just like 90% of the Aussie streamers who pan it and talk about the glory days of AFL 2004?

BigAntStudios JNT BA The game is in a really good position imo, you’ve e done a great job to get it back with all the daily patches.

My little Wishlist before patches start easing up (I know a few if not majority of these will get attention)

‪Fatigue ‬
‪Auto interchange ‬
‪Tactics ‬
‪Goalkicking/on the run goalkicking ‬
‪Overpowered handballs that go 50 m and roll Outabounds ‬
‪Bumping ‬
‪Speckies ‬
‪More rules implemented correctly ( deliberate out of bounds) ‬

‪If the team addresses these issues before the patching calms down, the game will be in a great position going forward.

Cheers !

He and majority of his chat are American so half of them were just saying rugby stuff

He's more confused about how the sport works. He said a couple of positive things.

He and majority of his chat are American so half of them were just saying rugby stuff
"where are the shoulder pads" | "these guys are barbaric" | "I love rugby" | "why no guns or cheerleaders?"|

Those probably cover most of the common US comments about footy :thumbsu:

I'm going to send out another email to support to try and solve that. Definitely would like precision passing, the ability to hand ball softly under 1 metre. Also, gonna suggest to bring in a wind hud during the coin toss, so the coin toss would then have a purpose.

That’s exactly what it is yeah
Yeah gets quite frustrating. Having said that, I'm currently doing a season mode as Gold Coast and Witts is a machine and manages to stay fit majority of the game in ruck. Whereas when playing as Hawthorn, Ned Reeves is buggered by quarter time and is slow and struggles the whole game :disrelieved: Another reason I won't start a management mode yet

The delayed marketing campaign is coming to fruition. Week 1, bad news all over Australian media, week 2 Cr1TiKaL.

The coverage is great but having a video titled "This Game Made Me So Mad" may not be the type of advertising they were after.
