Multiplat AFL 23: Launch Thread (Xbox release date TBC)

STATE OF PLAY:

• The game is out for Steam and PlayStation. There have been issues with Xbox release and it is unclear when the game will be available.
• Big Ant are aware that there are playability issues & bugs at present.
• Content has been temporarily removed from the game to identify where the issues lie.
• This content will be re-introduced via patches in the coming days.
• Big Ant have released a summary of what is to be reintroduced, which can be seen below.

Oh I know I was just poking a little bit of fun, neutrals do attend games in their own team colours just seemed odd to have a bunch of them sitting together.

game confirmed broken! Shouldn't even be in with a chance as Hawthorn... hehehe

If it makes you feel better, I've played against the same team twice and have had flucuating results. Had two games against Geelong, one I only just beat them, the following game they smashed me by 10+ goals - same difficulty and everything.


Oh and in that Sydney game it was pretty flawless in the way of NOT getting that invisible tackle (that impacts on your kick making it a dribbler).

What does it look like when you click on create match? I know Cricket 22 has Standard and Advanced match setup settings. Would be great to see what options we get!

Advanced just has the ability to make it public or not. Hopefully they add some more customization later on.

Would love to share some insights but I've had 3 system hangs at the main title screen (press A to start)

And 2 hangs and crashes back to desktop during attempted matches

The patch seems like it's broken something, wait and see if others share if they've experienced more crashes.


** The title screen hanging has happened to me the first time I boot the game after the update has downloaded and 'installed' throughout this week. Tonight it happened multiple times in a row.

The crashes during matches have been super rare for me, I'm concerned as like others I want a flawless performance.

Today is the worst ive had

I think i played 7/8 games and only completed 3 of them the rest crashed

I'm playing season mode on PS5 like i said above today is the worst I have had.....you know the game is gonna crash soon because you lose the commentary. It's just frustrating having to play the same game in season mode 3 times just to fully finish it.....again todays been the worst I have had

I spent a good chunk of this game trying to see how far out I could nail a torp from.
NMot sure what, if anything, has been fixed in gameplay. Stab passes seem to have changed. I can't use them anywhere near the FWD 50 which is annoying. Now even when pressing X/A, you kick a dribble kick. Surely that should just be used for shots at goal with O/X.
No crashes, 7.5m qtrs, way way way too easy for Hardest difficulty.

Luck of the draw sort of stuff which is crap!

Hopefully tomorrows patch once again attempts to fix this crashing issue…

Same I have only had crashes on career, play now, season and online havn't had a problem since the weekend.

yeah I think it's honestly luck of the draw....kinda hard to pin point the issue as it happens at all different times as well

What ive noticed with crashing in management mode is that:
I crash in every away game
I don’t crash in home games.

Probably already mentioned:
But I wish I could change players primary positions (eg Byrne-Jones from back flanker to forward flanker).
Auto switching still a pain.
I also think the bench is not being used at all.

Noticed Sam Darcy is listed as a Key Defender, not sure even Bevo knows if he's forward or not. I'd like an option at the beginning of a new season to change the players position type. Fairly sure Josh Bruce would be listed a Key Forward too seeing as he's now swapped to a defender in real life
