Multiplat AFL 23: Launch Thread (Xbox release date TBC)

STATE OF PLAY:

• The game is out for Steam and PlayStation. There have been issues with Xbox release and it is unclear when the game will be available.
• Big Ant are aware that there are playability issues & bugs at present.
• Content has been temporarily removed from the game to identify where the issues lie.
• This content will be re-introduced via patches in the coming days.
• Big Ant have released a summary of what is to be reintroduced, which can be seen below.

Everyone complaining about crashing and BigAnt come in here and say they can't help it due to us users spamming buttons that may be the cause of it

I mean in fairness they didn't say they can't fix it, they just said that the cause of crashes could be anything from button combos to certain hardware on PC. If you are sending crash reports, they at least have data to work off to try and figure out what is causing the game to crash.

Play a game on the new patch, not sure really what has changed if anything from a gameplay standard. The difficulty has definitely been modified slightly as it was less of a one-sided game than what I was experiencing earlier this evening. Also had the AI kick the ball out on the full which was a first. When I got the free kick however my player just kicked the ball at full power without any controller input which was not great.

I'll be holding off on a management career until injuries and interchange are working, both I have yet to see function at all.

Also, anyone know how the L2/LT + Goal kick works? I've had right footers in perfect spot to kick a snap and they instead kick a left foot banana that goes about 30 metres in the wrong direction. I don't think I've been able to get a single player to kick a snap in open play. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

I also was curious about this every time I try snap it on the run it just goes in a bizarre direction haha

It's been a bit hit and miss for me I have experienced what you have but I have also managed to get some sweet snaps from the boundary as well.

I spent a good chunk of this game trying to see how far out I could nail a torp from.
NMot sure what, if anything, has been fixed in gameplay. Stab passes seem to have changed. I can't use them anywhere near the FWD 50 which is annoying. Now even when pressing X/A, you kick a dribble kick. Surely that should just be used for shots at goal with O/X.
No crashes, 7.5m qtrs, way way way too easy for Hardest difficulty.

My longest torp goal has been about 60m.

I'm clearing the centre circle with most kick-ins. But I do play on and start the kick as I getr to the edge of the goal square. Longest torp on here was from 65 out but carried an extra 10m or so

Was taking a set shot then the player disappeared and game froze.

How can a game crash so consistently. It’s embarrassing. I’m guessing it will take months until this issue is resolved

I had this earlier as did another member

Did you make any interchanges just before it happened? Both me and the other member her made changes and one of the players we took off the field marked the ball before the changes were "completed" which caused this to happen

Cross-gen, Cross-play, Leaderboards are the next online functions to be merged in.

When you say gameplay, do you have a rough idea what they may be for us PS users which will get it Monday ?

Played my first game post-difficulty patch, on Hard. Season mode, Dogs vs Pies. Won by 96, Naughton with 10.

Time to switch to Hardest I think.

BigAntStudios, I'm intrigued as to what the UI improvements are about in Academy. I've been making and sharing teams, logos, guernseys etc and really grasping the possible tweeks.
