Had my first rage quit after Carlton got 7 clearances in a row to their CHF who marked and scored everything lol. Need tactics put into the game asap

I heard there was a new vibrating function that lets you know when to release to take marks. I don't seem to have this feature yet despite having vibration on. Anyone else who's playing on PC Steam have this problem?

I'm doing season mode on PS4 and it seems that a Richmond/Collingwood game isn't a sell out at the MCG.. I'd say barely half full... is this what's it's meant to be ??
Yeah crowds on PS4 have not been updated for some reason, I’m having the same problem.

It's ice skating time

So does early right stick engage the opponent, but then also act as the spoil control?
If so.... surely there's no timing element to the spoil... otherwise the earlier R stick push would trigger a far-too-early spoil attempt.
Maybe JNT BA can give some insight (and maybe the Guide section might be able to give more information?)
Honestly have nfi. At least the animations chain together nicely.

Anybody else's mark timing metre still broken? Mine doesn't have the marker moving on it like it used to, it's always glitched out. Makes taking contested marks incredibly difficult

I've not noticed the mark meter until it was pointed out on here it's tiny just like the ants on the screen as players (depending on your viewing distance). I tend to hit the mark button just as the white circle starts to shrink - don't know how I reached that logic, but I mark more often than not now..... sometimes when I hit the mark button I spoil it instead but oh well.

I haven't seen it as bad as last weekend when I was doing either 45 - 360 degree ice skating turns that lasted 10-20 seconds before the animation snapped itself out of it! :p

The push in the back, stand, play on (without touching any buttons), holding the ball animation sequence drives me nuts!

Oh and I'm noticing just as wacky distance calls as there are in real life (re: running too far without bouncing the ball, marks that are not 15m being called as marks etc).

I'll try to remember to either hit record (and then edit the error after the match) or pause and then go the instant replay route and record it then and there.

*** I don't know what dictates the power of hand passes ? I've managed to hit dinky one's that look worse than a beginner at Auskick..... but I've also smashed out Luke Hodge 2008 grand final inspired hand passes (with just the single input button). Handpasses that find a teammate with ease.... and others that SHOULD find a teammate with ease, just limp along the ground despite the teammate being side by side.

Anyone managed the 5 minutes straight of possession trophy so far? Doing head in. Keep chipping it around but always have that one mistake where the opposition intercepts it, most I've managed it probably 3 minutes. Feel like camera selection plays a big role in this one
End with ball in your possession at quarter/half time and let the screen rest on the stats part for 5 mins before starting the next quarter. You'll get it while just sitting there.

Love it when you take a mark and just slide 20 metres to the left of screen before they call play on

I've also done a showdown, and an ANZAC Day and still have the same. Hope it's an easy fix, haven't tried it on my PS5 though yet :)!
Just did Gather Round Gold Coast vs Freo and stadium was extremely empty - normally that wouldn't be a surprise though

Hardest Difficulty
Freddy kicked ten but didn't have him on best on ground with 10
the best on ground stats are broken
and I just did not miss any goals
don't get me wrong I love a good win but this just got boring.
Its so easy to time marks against AI now

cheers

Patch is good. I hate to be the one but I haven't had a crash all week. Mind you I'm a season only guy, at least for now.

It's safe to say we're over the hump in terms of whether this will be a good game or not, each to their own of course on where things are at right now but I'm pretty happy.

We should pause a moment today. It has been seven days since launch. One week. Has there ever been this much bitching and moaning on a single topic inside of a launch week? Feels like no.

I've purposefully held off being particular but I'm going to start chiming in as my 'perfect AFL game' priorities are a bit different to some of the other themes on this board. In order of priority for me:-

1.General gameplay - it's good, it could be so much better. Turning circles, the ease with which you run past the ball carrier, little things like players attempting to mark recovering quicker than a player punching. This is especially damaging at CHB from a centre bounce. I trust that BA are on to things like this as they continue to optimise. And it would be great if things could get a little more chaotic - there are starting to be some miskicks and kicks to lead that are slightly off - this is often when the game is at it's best.

2. Saving team lists. I really like playing as the announced team list from the names to the positions. That second one might be a little quirky but I can't wait till the team you're playing with saves week to week.

3. AI smothering - appears to be non existent, including inside of a pack in front of goal.

4. Speccies. The elephant in the room.

5. Champion Data syncing. Didn't think it would make the first game but now it is I can't wait. Hopefully this extends to things like matching injuries (as an option of course) and team selection where you can sync for all clubs inside of an active season i.e not just in a quick play match.

I'm loving the progress with handballs, beginning to be a real option. Improved punching (excluding the recovery) - perfect. What's up with the AFLW playing more smoothly? A bit of a head scratcher.

BigAntStudios & team keep up the great work.

Lol. This actually worked. Lobb marked in the forward line with seconds left, left it, didn't initiate set-shot. Goes to half-time didn't touch anything and trophy unlocked after 5 minutes.

A niche Wishlist highlighting the little nit picky things:

  • the ‘highlights’ feature from Live 1. Reckon it was so cool
  • the ‘end to end camera after a mark/free kick’ feature from evo 2. This was so ideal as side on is the best during general play but end to end is the best for possession footy.
  • countdown clock starting from 20:00. Feel this should be in the game. Kills the immersion I think
  • Following from last point, The option to do the countdown or count up clock
  • customising the footy colours in season/management. Also Kills the immersion, when playing a night game with a red pill
  • stats breakdown after each quarter
  • just like the broadcasts (and past evo games) showing ‘last 10 clearances/goals/inside 50’s’ etc.
  • being able to customise your coach in management career. Would be so cool and since we have no player career, this would be a great addition, and makes you truly feel like the coach

Noticed a bug where if a ball is spoiled through over the behind line it'll count as a throw in

:p

I've smothered the AI a whole heap of times (especially when they're doing a kick in after I've scored a point) don't know if it's intentional, but I'll take advantage of the ease that it's happening. AI haven't smothered me as often, but I'm trying to be careful in not kicking it when I've got an opponent coming at me front on.

And yes it's really an AFLW game by stealth, the AFL stuff is just window dressing!

being able to customise your coach in management career. Would be so cool and since we have no player career, this would be a great addition, and makes you truly feel like the coach
To add to this would also be a good addition to have other clubs make offers to try and persuade you to coach another AFL team, lose your job if the board don't think you're up to scratch etc.
