The fact it's Grand Final day and nothing has been said or done is actually laughable.

They are going to need to do a lot of grovelling to get back in the good graces of the afl gaming community.

I think its too little too late for them. 5.5 months of absolute silence and ignoring your fan base is absolutely disgraceful. Even the casual NSW company made better games on probably half the budget.

X Box Elite 2.

It has to be a bug because I can control the players just fine in general play. But when lining up for a goal the left stick becomes a 'select shot type' control just like the D Pad.

Maybe there is an explanation because I have different profiles on the controller and I am using remote play this week (on wired LAN), but I am yet to see how that could explain a specific, consistent gameplay issue.
Tying up a small loose end - since discovered to be a weird Steam remote play bug that probably has nothing to do with AFL 23.

I could probably fix it myself wiping some config file somewhere - not worth the effort. It's only with remote play and only with this controller (Xbo Elite 2).

Ah ok… yeah I haven’t tried remote play, and even so, I’m using a PS5 controller and never saw that one, so it does sound config-specific.

Yep. If they had handled things better and more transparently, More people would be willing to give them another chance but after the mess of the game and all the shit that happened around it and then just going quiet, They've pretty much burned their bridges and people aren't going to give them another shot.

They can try to keep fixing this game or release another one but the reaction it will get will be very negative and I guarantee sales will be a lot lower the second time around than the first. Then again, Maybe they just won't bother. Ross did go on those rants about needing to make their money back and I doubt they did but then again, the amount of lies he's told and how disorganized they seemed making the game just makes it hard to work anything out.

I really want to know what happened, why they released a complete disaster. Is it the game engine the programmers struggled with? Was it poor management and no real direction? Probably a combination of all those things. I really do think their custom game engine is setting them back, they should have just done what WW did and used a common industry engine.

What annoyed me is seeing them bragging about Cricket 24 on the socials. Bigant haven't even fixed this game yet they're raving about Cricket 24 and giving behind the scenes looks etc.

The fact if the matter is AFL 23 has given them all the sales income they are going to get. Season is over and Bigant know any interest in the game is now dead. Why beat a dead horse?

Their other games they're releasing are worldwide games meaning they will get a bigger revenue and have a broader market.

Bigant still has a lot to answer but they won't and most likely don't care. In all honesty I am thinking Proteam is something that will most likely be on their next release of AFL. It gives them something that will probably sell more units of the next instalment.

I'd love to see how a release party goes in Bigant decide to have another one before AFL25...or whatever it will be called. Ross wouldn't dare!

Cricket was always going to get priority, better game, bigger fan base.

Developers were claiming they're still developing 23 on the forums, but could be window dressing.

Did anyone else just get a 770.25mb update? Don’t know whether it’s a past update and it’s glitching or they’ve actually continued to work on this game

Based on BigAnts most recent release, the big knock is that it’s basically a copy and paste job of Cricket 22
Let’s just pray that AFL 25 isn’t a copy and paste job too 😅

When you look back - 3(or 4?) releases in a year. Was called out by plenty in advance but you quite clearly can't do full dev work on that many games with a team the size of theirs. Cricket got a cosmetic makeover, AFL got bare bones content, Rugby got postponed.

People say they bit off more than they could chew but I think they got exactly the right amount, they just never planned on chewing much. Such a disappointing outcome for a company that 13 years ago showed so much promise.
