I reckon an understated "missing" part of the game is just the lack of visual/sensory flare. You kick a goal and the game just kinda...resets. The crowd noises aren't immersive, there aren't any replays or anything, and your players just start running back to the middle even before the ball goes through the goals. This really contributes to the general lack of reward/excitement I feel playing the game. Compare that to something like a 2K/FIFA, or even something more arcadey like Rocket League/Jam, where every score feels like a big deal in a way that is super rewarding.

As much as it's still frustrating and a long, long way from perfect, the gameplay is at a place now where I can happily chuck a game on here and there and have a fine time. There's just nothing to keep me coming back, or want to play another, let alone slog through a 24 round season or play 10+ minute quarters to get anywhere in ProTeam.

Pretty much sums it up perfectly. I just fired up Pro Team after 2 months and even though Legends are a good inclusion, it still isnt enough to keep me entertained & I think the gameplay needs a lot of tweaking still.

I can have a bug free match then the next match I'll get hit with invisible walls, stuck in mud (worst is when that happens 4-5 fresh possessions in a row!!) or score glitches.

This could very well happen on Saturday

(Not the usual ending to the type of video I normally upload lol)

The ending was worth it. Standard gameplay

Have an admission to make, I've been playing Pro Team lately and I kinda like it. Didn't have to wait to play online, had zero lag and it was clear why I was getting destroyed. It felt like like both stats and skills mattered and the umpiring was unoffensive. Both of us made pressure based errors at times which added a lot to the experience.

This isn't a rave, I'm saying in context based on what we've had before it's pretty good. Still a ton of work needed for hardball gets and for QTE contested marking to be the single most important game event is depressing.

Question, apologies if it has been well discussed. Does anyone know when your team resets? I assume they have to do it every so often...or do they? I can see a small HC player group in future where everyone is stacked with 90+ ratings with barely a POD in sight. Maybe not the end of the world but if I'm going to build a crazy list it would be nice to know I'm going to keep it for a while.

The team will never reset unless of course they release a new game.
Then you’d be starting from scratch again.
You could only imagine the uproar of people losing their star players after putting hundreds of dollars into their teams

I do agree with everything you said though. Gameplay still needs a lot of work but it still has its fun moments and it probably rivals Evo 2’s gameplay now.
Just wish it was a bit more chaotic

100%, thanks and really good to know. My first foray into any Pro Team mode and I couldn't shake the feeling there would be some type of reset.

State of the game and history aside if they start doing seasons where the final card is Ablett Snr, Carey, Matthews et al and you can buy levels ala Fortnite, BA's revenue stream might end up in a pretty healthy state after all.

Which has got me thinking..segue alert..what if BA halved the purchase price of AFL~26 for everyone which would make it pretty much an impulse buy overseas? Fifa and Madden sell half a billion units between them, one tenth of a percent of that market (as in 0.1%) is 50k units. A quarter of the market is 1.25m units. The numbers are bonkers at the slightest interest.

Before I'm dragged away in a straightjacket, you can put good money on someone in Nacon HQ having exactly that thought just like they would about any game they publish. I'm not saying it will happen, but the opportunity itself is nuts.

I believe Diamond Dynasty mode in MLB the Show 24 teams reset after a season , unsure of Madden and Football FC but I know NBA it doesn't reset either.

how do i update lists like for example i put someone like Matt Kennedy to bulldogs but he still appears in the carlton list aswell as the dogs list now?

anyone know the best way to go about updating the list with all the current trades

$40 on the xbox store at the moment, would this actually be somewhat worth it at this price?

It's hard to say, it'll depend on your tolerance level. The game play can be decent one minute, infuriating the next!

If you're expecting a deep management mode sim, you'll be very let down.
I myself tend to only play exhibition mode games from time to time (in saying that Steam is currently showing 4.1 hours a fortnight... so I'm still giving it a bash now and then, but it's a far cry to when I played it for 60+ hours a fortnight at my peak interest in the game).
