• Xbox (Digital or Physical): TO BE CONFIRMED, unlikely to be 4 May

Those that pre-ordered PS versions will be able to play on Thursday, disks will have already been mailed by retailers, they will also be available in-store.

Stating the obvious, we are still having issues with XBox.

Seriously, anyone that looks hard knows there’s issues - why do you think there are so many exclusives for a particular platform that are not marked as exclusive, but are only on that platform.

If I took that road, life would have been a lot easier.

Xbox digital and retail will release at the same time - that is not a decision we get to make.

I can never give 100% guarantee about anything in the future, but as it stands today, the statement I am prepared to make it that all stock that is at retailers on 4 May will be available for sale.

As to the amount that will be there for sale, and whether it is enough, that is a question I cannot answer.

It will be made digitally available on the various platform holder electronic stores.

Clarifying, the game will not release prior to 4 May 2023.

I am vague as there is one platform that has had sufficient stock at retailers and the other has not, and I cannot name them (contractual reasons).

The game will not be further delayed because of the numbers of units in stock.

I've already put in a request for the screenshots to be replaced with current ones, they'll probably only be there for a day.

As much as the feedback has generally been positive, these are old, meant to be placeholder only and were not meant to go live.

A head's up on Career mode.

At the AFL 23 Launch night I mentioned the non-team based Individual Career Mode in an interview with Dean (Twistie3). As alluded to at that same event, we were working with the AFL and AFLPA to include as many past legends in the game as possible.

The great news is that we have received approval for far more AFL legends than were previously envisaged, but this has meant that we had to make the tough decision to divert resources away from the Individual Career mode development. The individual Career Mode function will not make it into AFL 23, Career Mode will be entirely team based. I expect this mode to be include in future iterations of the game.

We are doing AFL as it’s a passion project, without us doing it there would not be one being made.

But I have to scroll past them to see some genuine questions and responses from Ross or JNT, remember they don’t have to come on here and do anything, in fact Ross has been quite transparent about why they can’t just release it with the delay, or the reasons why we haven’t seen videos just yet due to approvals as it is a fully licensed game. Some people choosing to not listen and others are taking pot shots which isn’t what this forum is for

Now that people have mentioned it, I'll see what I can do.

It's not so bad here, ignore works well, mods are doing their best. The most disappointing thing for me is the duplicitous nature of some of the biggest trolls on here, there are some in particular that I've helped and had reasonable conversations in the past. The biggest one here "dreamed" of being in the video games industry back in the AFL Live days, it obviously hasn't worked out for them and I didn't realise they were so upset. I will be checking records when back in the office to see if they applied at BA and if they did, make sure we rejected them appropriately.

Picturing Ross taking a break from being neck deep in crunch trawling through 12 year old resumes wondering why none of them have BigFooty usernames on them.

Couldn't have said it better. As a fan I don't like conferences that are "phoned in", taking it one week at a time, etc. etc. and I'm the same way with games.

For every single leak I did of AFL Live back here ten years ago and for every comment, I copped it from the publisher, they would have rathered I just do PR speak as well.

As the CEO of this video game company, I am absolutely sick and tired of all the trolls who keep criticizing every move we make. We're doing the best we can here, and if you don't like it, tough luck.
To those of you who keep demanding specific things like gameplay footage, I have this to say: you have no idea what goes into making a game. We're working hard to make something great, and we'll show you what we want to show you. If you don't like it, too bad.
And to those of you who keep asking why we're showing you one thing instead of another, let me tell you: it's none of your business. We know what we're doing, and we don't need you questioning our decisions.

It's difficult to implement 100% but we did pay assistant coaches while they were stood down during the covid period to do opposition analysis of every club in the AFL for how they line up at stoppages and move the ball.

In relation to tactics/stoppages, will there be options to have a spare man in defence or nominated kick takers after scores/stoppages?
