Those that pre-ordered PS versions will be able to play on Thursday, disks will have already been mailed by retailers, they will also be available in-store.

Steam will also be available Thursday.

Stating the obvious, we are still having issues with XBox.

Seriously, anyone that looks hard knows there’s issues - why do you think there are so many exclusives for a particular platform that are not marked as exclusive, but are only on that platform.

If I took that road, life would have been a lot easier.

Xbox digital and retail will release at the same time - that is not a decision we get to make.

It applies now and I will no doubt pay a price.

I can never give 100% guarantee about anything in the future, but as it stands today, the statement I am prepared to make it that all stock that is at retailers on 4 May will be available for sale.

As to the amount that will be there for sale, and whether it is enough, that is a question I cannot answer.

It will be made digitally available on the various platform holder electronic stores.

Clarifying, the game will not release prior to 4 May 2023.

I am vague as there is one platform that has had sufficient stock at retailers and the other has not, and I cannot name them (contractual reasons).

The game will not be further delayed because of the numbers of units in stock.

I've already put in a request for the screenshots to be replaced with current ones, they'll probably only be there for a day.

As much as the feedback has generally been positive, these are old, meant to be placeholder only and were not meant to go live.

A head's up on Career mode.

At the AFL 23 Launch night I mentioned the non-team based Individual Career Mode in an interview with Dean (Twistie3). As alluded to at that same event, we were working with the AFL and AFLPA to include as many past legends in the game as possible.

The great news is that we have received approval for far more AFL legends than were previously envisaged, but this has meant that we had to make the tough decision to divert resources away from the Individual Career mode development. The individual Career Mode function will not make it into AFL 23, Career Mode will be entirely team based. I expect this mode to be include in future iterations of the game.

We are doing AFL as it’s a passion project, without us doing it there would not be one being made.

So much more upside with making games that are played internationally, let alone one that will not even be played in every state in this country.

It’s been a great promotion from the AFL to nothing on TV during games and nothing major two days out.

2K had their WWE game all over TV and events for months prior.

More people would have probably been more understanding then rather than 2 days prior to a release.

Said this the whole time, the messaging has actually been awful, no official statements from BA or AFL on any platform today. Just a message on Big Footy which is 0.001% of the audience buying the game. If you didn't have a pre order and were looking for an Xbox version on Friday and don't use Big Footy, you think you're getting the game

This has to be a joke at this point, been waiting since the first trailer and when I heard Xbox copies were delayed I thought nothing of it as I assumed it was physical copies only. Now I know it’s digital copies and all I can say is this is s***. Seriously I get why physical copies have been delayed but digital? At least let us buy it digitally if we cant buy it physically, quite frankly I waited patiently and respectfully when the first delay happened but now i don’t think I can wait patiently any more, you’re telling me late June until i can play it? I’m going to hate watching people play it and me not being able to all because I have an xbox. I can’t afford a pc and the series s was a much cheaper alternative to the ps5 which at the time I couldn’t find in any stores or online. I had the money ready and everything to buy this game on may the 4th and now I’ve gotta wait 8+ more weeks.

Actually curious as to why so many questions are left in the dark 2 days out from release. Surely Big Ant aren’t restricted with what they can/can’t show 2 days before release ?
I don’t think I’ve ever seen this in the gaming industry where most of the details about the game are kept under wraps 2 days before release

It’s due to JB and EB having ordered physical stock. If they release on Xbox digitally, then a lot of their in store Xbox copies won’t sell as immediate buyers will compromise with digital.

Would imagine a lot cancel pre orders now anyway why pre order something that has failed to deliver x 2 now and 2 different dates depending on suppliers when they say it’ll be out. There’s no guarantee when you’ll see it.

Cancel the pre orders and get it cheaper anyway on release when it does eventually come out.
