Sorry if this has been mentioned. I haven’t gone through the whole thread. But was this triggered after Clarry went back to Melbourne with the supposed offer Geelong made? That’s what I heard anyway. And that clued GWS and Dogs into also wanting a look.
Bailey Smith and something about selwood also

Apparently Melbourne, GWS and Footscray had a group sook session that their player's preferred to play for Geelong according to some journos.

Pathetic really.

Says alot about their recent success or lack thereof.
There's 4 grand finals and two flags between them.

They've reached the top of the mountain.

Gws have had concessions but the dogs and dee's did it the hard way.

Especially the dogs who've had one of the worst stadium deals in the history of world sport.

Dogs won in 2016.

Melbourne may have won in *Perth, but don't tell me they're not salty about finally getting there and not doing it in Melbourne.

The fact they're having a sook because players are leaving, and accusing other clubs of cheating, is as I said, pathetic.

The real kicker about Melbourne having a cry:

The aforementioned revelations come just days after it was revealed Pert contacted rival clubs to seek their interest in star Clayton Oliver, without the approval of Melbourne’s board.

Reportedly with the approval of the Demons’ list management, Pert reached out to at least one club inquiring as to whether or not they would be interested in trading for the three-time All-Australian.

Oliver met with both players and officials at Geelong earlier this week, with the club expressing initial interest in his services.

Their CEO literally shopped Oliver to Geelong and now they're having a piss and moan as if it's Geelong's fault. Rabble.

That’s one way of putting it I suppose. Or perhaps as the story goes, officials at Melbourne were astounded at the way Geelong proposed to compensate Clarry for playing for them. Same goes for Cameron and Smith with their former clubs.

Audits are done in depth every year for two clubs, this year is Port and Geelong.
Dogs complained after Smith ordeal which trigged them to go more in depth with Cats.

4 other teams will have minor audits during the year.
This blew up because Caroline Wilson is a Tuggers nuffie who dislikes Geelong and wanted to create a shitstorm for her new show.

Tom Morris even pointed out after she put it out that it’s totally normal to be audited and that the use of the word “investigation” was misleading.

I believe it would be in the AFL's best interest to see Geelong slide out of contention and in to the mid pack all things considered.
They're bringing far too much attention to themselves and the league and its not the kind the league is after having spent time and money trying to crack deeper into NRL heartland.

You cant have Premiers with questions hanging over them when no one is buying the findings of a former employee overseeing an audit of his previous club.

I think we need more cups heading north to GWS, GC and even Brisbane who, along with their supporter base, have shown to be humble in their recent success.
Its a breath of fresh air the league and bigfooty needed.
AFL should cripple them based on innuendo ...

But seriously, I actually think they will drift into the middle of the pack. As good as Chris Scott is, I don't think he'll be able to continue to compensate for a mediocre midfield like he did last year.

You’re kidding! Morris Finance, Cotton on, Selwood loan deal and this is what we really know. What about Bailey smith??? How does a 23 year old buy a 4 million house? His income at the bulldogs was what? 600k? Bank won’t give you a loan for 4 mill on that income? Did a sponsor guarantee the loan or did Bailey receive the Frank Costa player scholarship? Good luck to Geelong but don’t think we are all idiots and don’t know what’s going…

Big call to make. Do you work for the AFL? You'll have nothing to worry about. Your ex COO is running your audit.

Nope. Wasn't the Smith deal.

It was Melbourne who complained

GWS matched the offer we gave Cameron. And he's worth every penny.

Dogs were salty with the picks in return. The deal was pencilled in the year prior, he was always coming to us.

I think this is about what is being paid outside of the contracts.

Then why don’t they go audit Cotton On and Morris Finance?
They aren’t gonna find that on Geelong’s books lol

I believe CatToTheFuture made this point several pages back.

I don’t even know where to begin with this, just wow!

Tell me how I know you don’t understand finance….very easy!
Just read this jumbled mess lol

I don’t think they’re going to audit other companies. Maybe payments from said companies perhaps.
