Webb has always been and will always big a thug. If I'm correct when Cootamundra signed him as coach the first time he was already serving a suspension from the Rock .What I'm interested to know is weather the rumor's are correct that there will be civil charges due to the nature of the injury. If so could afl Canberra increase his suspension ? I don't think it matters weather the injured player was the coaches son or not.
Wow !... that’s a major over reaction isn’t it ?

The year was 2014 Luke was suspended for the start of the season yes . I believe he missed the first 6 games . But here’s the thing he went on to win the league medal and coached Cootamundra to the premiership. He wasn’t a thug that year .

As weird as this may sound I honestly think anyone can still win it. Yass and Murrumbateman are only 1 game out of finals and they both have a lot of improvement in them. Once Murrumbateman gel as a team and start knowing how each other plays I reckon they can start knocking off a few more teams; Yass are in the same boat looks like a few new faces. Belco struggle as their better players go up and down week to week but are always super competitive. Goulburn are always a strong team and you can never write them off. Cats have a few injuries but still have some improvement in them. Coota are clear favorites and rightly so probably have the best midfield in the comp and a monster up front that you cant move. As shit as the travel is it is a fairly even comp.

Obviously Cootamundra would be firm favourites , but i couldn’t write off Belconnen with the access they have to division 2 players now .

How does it work with their division two players ? Are they able to play them come finals ? I’d have them close to coota going off last weekends game agaisnt eachother , they’re the only team to push coota

Off the top of my head, I think Community comp finals start the week before seniors? They wouldn't be able to play 2s unless they've qualified for that week (played 4 games in regional grade, and no more than 9 in 2s, from memory), but for 2nd week of finals when their 1s and 2s are playing a final of their own, every player who has qualified for the club would be eligible to play regional grade, basically.

Unsure of the rules surrounding players playing multiple finals on the one weekend, ie backing up from 2s to play regional.

Going off previous years as Lemon said you need to qualify for the grade and not have played too many games in the higher grades. Also they should technically not be playing in lower grades if they have played in a higher grade that week both in finals and regular season. You can double up games if you are going up to a higher tier not dropping back i.e. 3s > 2s not 2s > 3s that is my understanding of it anyway.

Coota were never going to lose there 60 year reunion game especially not when they could transfer past players into the side from other league's to play that one game . Also Cootamundra would be the only team in regional grade that actually pay players wouldn't they ?

How are teams looking for this weekend with player availability? I think we may be looking at a few more match day transfers? Hopefully the bye has given some teams a chance to get some players back.

The match permit circus is starting to look ridiculous, players from any league who have a bye can now apply for a permit and play in the regional grade . And I don’t just mean Anu and Woden who have lent players to clubs when there teams have the bye . You can now get players from Farah, Riverina, and Northern Riverina leagues . Imagine making finals with top up players from across the leagues and then turning up with 16 players on finals day 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

You are dead right , too much of it , doesn’t it cut off at June 30 anyway though ? Even coota have been doing it , one week blokes from anu the next blokes from the Farrer League , then for their reunion weekend they play old players who were back in town

I think the issue that AFL Canberra have created in this grade is the travel tends to kill of alot of the depth players that these clubs have had i.e. the guys who don't train but are happy to play on the weekend just down the road. When you have to travel a minimum of 1 hour every week each way it does kill off enthusiasm and middle of the year I think most clubs struggle for numbers anyway. At the end of the day I think I would rather have 40 odd blokes running around chasing a ball then have them sitting at home and not playing. Yes it may hurt teams come finals time but that if teams are good enough to make finals without using top ups they should steam roll through. If they are receiving top up players I also doubt that they would be in the teams best 10-14 players which is normally where the games are won in the lower grades.

My apologies apparently I got the match day permit wrong . To play for a team from another league you have to transfer in and then transfer back out . That eliminates the bye rule . Or of course play under another name . June 30 is the cutoff too for transfers how ever match day permits are still allowed. Permits just don’t count for finals

A bit surprised at the Cats Belconnen score Saturday , Maybe it will come down to Yass to take out 4th spot.

Belco would want to get a move on. They also haven’t updated the ladder from the Cooma forfeit , so Goulburn are still in second place

If it works like every other year the penalty for forfeiting is 90 points against and no change to the win loss column. Hence why the Swans have a far superior % and the Cats is a lot lower.
